Lovely big, bed, very comfortable. Clean room. Staff were very helpful. Continental breakfast was fresh and very filling. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back x

Suite expensive but not really a suite, a bigger room with partial partition. Street outside very noisy with revellers all night.

We loved our room - we had a suite, it was amazing apart from the lack of ventilation, which made it a little dusty. Also the hotel appeared under staffed, they had forgotten to give us replacement milk for coffee, it took 2 visits to reception as the phones weren’t manned. Breakfast took a while. Staff didn’t look happy which is so unusual for this hotel.

Very spacious and comfortable room, the bed was huge! Lovely and cosy. This is a very traditional grand hotel in the centre of Chester and was beautifully decked out for Christmas, the level of service was top notch, though we were only there for one night we were very well looked after. The carpark with direct access to the hotel was a bonus as was the complimentary continental breakfast, which was delicious and very generous.

Lovely hotel. Great staff and good food in restaurant. Perfect location right in the centre and parking on the second floor of shopping centre var park leads you straight into the hotels private entrance. Room was very well appointed and such comfy bed. Thoroughly recommend

Main complaint was the greasy smell from the kitchen entering the dining room Quite sickly Staff could not be faulted especially the door staff Unfriendly access from the car park i.e. phone receptionist

The check in process is a little weird with the desks that they sit you down at and you fill in a few items on a form. As pretentious as they are here, I was expecting a bit more from the rooms. While the outward appearance is ok, the temperature was always too hot in the Winter and we could not get it to cool down no matter how low we set it. The handle on the toilet was practically falling off. The sink was cracked and the handles on the faucet leaked water all over the counter. The shower is mostly open and shoots water all over the bathroom floor. The other thing I noticed is nobody but the doorman seemed very friendly. The cleaning crew never once said hi or good morning in the hallways. The room service guy just walked in and put the tray down and walked out without really saying anything. The best thing about the stay was that the bed was pretty comfortable and it was located centrally in Chester.

From the minute we walked through the door we felt that the welcome and service from all the staff was excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious and we were given interconnecting rooms as we had requested in advance.

Lovely hotel, amazing location and the staff were so attentive. If you are going to Chester then this is the hotel to stay at.

Best hotel in Chester

I think everyone who books through Expedia must get a view of the air con units. This was no exception. Room ok, bit tired and chilly. Had to hunt for the robes which were in white plastic bags. We ate at The Arkle. Only 5 in the chilly dining room. The food was equally as cold, such a shame as it looks beautiful. We went to the bar after for a drink, but ended up taking it back to our room as we were the only people there, probably due to the temperature. Most of the staff are very friendly and it’s a good location.,would possibly stay there again, but would eat elsewhere…

Lovely hotel in the centre of Chester. Perfect location. Beautiful large, comfortable room and bed. Excellent, friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely stay again.
