We loved our junior suite! Lots of room for our family of four and plenty of storage space to put away our clothes. We enjoyed the nightly shows and my twin 7 year old boys loved the pools! We would return to this hotel!

This resort is a small city with everything that you need

Family friendly, awesome staff !! First time we visited this resort was about 15 years ago, this year was our fourth visit, and the place is still amazing, just like the first time. My only recommendation will be for management to check the temperature of the pool, the whole family agreed was a bit too warm :).

The waterpark was awesome!

The room was clean, but the furniture was old. One of the bedside lamps had a broken switch and kept flickering. The mattresses were soft and uncomfortable. Instead of individual pillows, there was one long double pillow for two people. However, the housekeeping staff did a wonderful job.The food was plentiful but extremely repetitive. Children were given too much freedom to operate the beverage and ice cream machines. This created a huge mess, resulted in broken plates and glasses, and made the area hazardous due to slipping risks or injuries. There was no salt and pepper on every table, and the cutlery looked quite worn out.The beachfront has a lot of palm trees, which is great, but the sand is not very nice. The seabed near the shore is rocky, which poses a risk of injury, and there were a lot of weeds creating an unpleasant sulfur smell.On the positive side, the walking paths between the buildings and along the coast are well-maintained, well-lit, and great for a stroll.In conclusion: It is okay for a one-time visit.

I liked that we had access to the other sister hotels all within walking distance or via the shuttle. Water activities are located on the resort which was great. Good food options and plenty of eateries and pools.

We have visited Barcelo maya palace 8 times. We enjoyed going back because of the beach the beach is well maintained no rocks not much sargasm. The pools are also very spacious does not feel overcrowded. The kids pool is like a waterpark my kids love it! This year I was beyond disappointed with the staff anytime we asked for an accommodation a dinner reservation the answer was no. I am very observant when it comes to customer experience and that is very important to me and family especially when on vacation. There seems to be no accountability, customer experience priority, guest accommodation. I got the impression staff is lazy and just dont want to deal with guests. We always stay at their best resort get premium for the additional amenities how is it possible that on my day of arrival there were basically no restaurant reservations available? We ate at the buffet most of the days because there were just no dinner reservations available and the staffs answer was just sorry but this is what it is. I did my check in experience survey with expedia just to get a call to my room asking what my dissatisfactions were and basically defending herself a manager i am guessing called. Basically told me well we just dont have reservations available. The 3 restaurant dinners i did go to in the 7 nights we visited the restaurants had so much empty seating. Instead of empathizing and trying to change our experience she called to argue. Very disappointed I can see why there are less guests.

I have to be honest I been in this Barceló Maya Palace for about 13 years now and I definitely see worsening in every aspect.

Me da tristeza la educación tan pobre que tienen algunos empleados de ese hotel te atienden a cómo te miran mal mal jamás pensé que me fueran a tratar tan mal lo peor esque soy Quintanarooence y me da vergüenza serlo después de ese trato me da pena por el personal que se portó muy porque por culpa de los malos los buenos son juzgados mal Barceló muy mal y se que mi review no importa pero para que la gente que no sea europea o gringa ni se paré por ese hotel porque los van a tratar mal

The place was absolutely amazing. My 6 year old did not want to leave.

Great property and staff. The beach had seaweed but there were good days and we enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and playing volleyball. The food was great and fruit options plentiful at the buffets. The desserts could use some improvement. The bus that takes u around doesn’t show up very regularly and u can east half hour waiting for it. I

Buffet Food was ok not really authentic Mexican food. Reservation restaurants amazing Place is beautiful Me and my family had a Wonderful time
