Barceló Maya Palace - All Inclusive

Muy lindo el hotel pero el servicio es espectacular

Overall everything was great except for

This was our 9th trip to the Barcelo Maya Resort. Our 6th time staying at the Palace. This facility was built nearly 20 years ago and is in need of some upgrading. The water tiles around the pool are degrading. There are cracks in the walkways. Updated painting should be done in multiple areas. The towels are very stiff and scratchy. The room lights are dull and should be replaced. On the plus side, the restaurants are very good with the service and food selections. The bars offered good service and a nice variety of drinks. We were upgraded to a Premium Package upon check in which was nice. That area was very helpful during our stay. Access to the Tropical, Colonial, Caribe and Maya Beach provided many options.

We stayed at the Barcelo Palace, and just by itself was a very large property, throw in ALL the other Barcelo properties and the whole place was gigantic. It was a beautifully maintained property, the staff is excellent. We only had one breif issue where our building lost power for about 3 hours, and of course it was right when we needed to get ready for a wedding. The staff was made aware of the situation and eventually got power back on. The food was decent, but that is kind of subjective, i was always happy with the food, some of our group found it too bland. The Ala Cart restaurants we went to were all good quality and a fine dining experience.

Very beautiful property but not easy to get around. Only a handful of the staff went above and beyond or where helpful/polite. Most of the staff seemed annoyed or where rude most of the time.

Was nice

Be prepared to do more walking than a normal sized resort. The buses could run anywhere between 15-40 minutes. The buffet food is just okay not the best we have had a similar resorts like Royal Hideaway another Barcelo resort or a RIU. We were sick with diarrhea and vomiting 2-3 days out of the 7 we were there. The AC was adequate. We still brought and used a portable fan. Overall we enjoyed our vacation, but we won't book Barcelo Maya Grand Resort again.

Beautiful property, plentiful food options, lots of beach loungers and space to relax.

Me gusto muchísimo las piscinas son inmensas , todo el complejo hotelero tienes excelentes actividades recreativas para pasar en familia , comida variada y habitaciones en buenas condiciones. Lo unico q no me agrado fueron los precios de las tiendas todo muy Carlos

Great stay off season. Most days we had the place almost to ourselves. Can get boring but it is nice with no crowd sometimes!

We really enjoyed our stay at Barceló palace and the resort is beautiful and our room was amazing. The food at the al a carts good but I found the buffet extremely repetitive with little variety. I would say my biggest complaint at this resort was the quality of the drinks. We were premium which I would probably do again because if it including room service and the better room location but I was sorely disappointed in the drinks. We had only one bar tender that did a good job. All the rest I had to fight with to get top shelf liquor which was supposed to be automatic with premium. I even went the premium lounge and asked what I was doing wrong that causing the bar staff to make drinks with cheap house liquors. They made a few calls and said please ask for the bar manager if they don’t make your drink with top shelf liquor. I’m sorry I’m not going to be the guy to ask for a supervisor at a bar. Try he bar tenders can clearly see who’s premium based on the wrist band and hotel staff should train them as such. The resort is impeccably maintained and our room staff was amazing. I think we would return but if we didn’t it would definitely be because of the drinks. Everything was loaded with sugar and just not very tasty (with the exception of the Tajín margaritas). We visited the DR the year before and I found the food there to be a littler better and the drinks were profoundly better. The snorkeling at the resort is absolutely amazing and most everyone we interacted amazing!

Property is beautiful. Very large beach with resident sea turtles that swim up to you. The pool is huge! Rooms were comfy and cool. The only negative is the dining. You must make reservations for a la cart dinners and they will tell you they only have 9:00 or 9:30 times left. You have to be pushy and then they magically have an earlier opening. And when you go to your dinner more than half the restaurant is empty.
