Aruba Sands Resort

A rundown apartment with toilet location very average. Room above too noisy hearing footsteps. with the occupants moving about. Its disturbing at night hearing footsteps thinking someone has broken into my unit when trying to sleep at night. And last but not least out the back outdoor area, having to put up with food smells from kitchen cooking from buildings nearby. I won't be staying at the Aruba again as for the price its average to put up with those conditions. Regards, Greg Burgess.

Caution before renting The pictures do not represent the apartment's current condition. No air conditioning in the bedroom. Mouse turds in the closet. Entering the building, common area are worn, dated and dirty. The apartment furniture is rubbish, beyond op shop quality, soiled and damaged. Appliances are old but work. The microwave is rusty inside, not usable for health reasons. Window coverings do not blackout. It is impossible to regulate hot and cold water mix in the shower. The biggest disappointment was the floors were filthy upon arrival. Midway in our stay service cleaning was included. In reality it was changed of linen and garage out. Nothing else. We clean apartment ourselves. Management are aware of these concerns as we told the reception. On the positive, the bed is comfortable, clean linens and towels. Pool, spa and outdoor bbq are good. In conclusion absolutely not worth the price.

Stove elements were rusty. Plaster wall damaged, long grass behind verandah not maintained.

Really good, well located and staff really nice

I booked a superior room with a balcony. I got a ground floor room with a view of a run down house. The back yard of the resort that my room looked out on to had weeds at least 4-5 ft high ( higher than the balcony) The unit was old, iron did not work, curtains did not cover the bedroom window or the lounge sliding door. The security door was broken and did not work. would never book here again and recommend no one else does.

Free parking was the best and Kellie was a very good sport.

The staff were lovely and the location was close to everything, but I think thats all I can really say was positive about it. Firstly, despite being told that check in times were from 2-5, the office only opened till 12 on the day I arrived. Additionally, the internet in my unit didn’t actually work and I had to use the internet from another unit which was spotty at best. The cleanliness is something that has definitely ensured I don’t return. The day I arrived you could very much tell the floors had not been mopped or even vacuumed, there was hair in the washing machine, mould in the toilet and a dead cockroach on the kitchen floor. Cleaners also only come once a week and although I was told to take everything off the floor each time, the floors were definitely never cleaned. They would make my bed, leave a singular roll of toilet paper, soap bar and tea towel, replace my shower and hand towel and that appeared to be it. Not exactly what is expected of cleaners in my opinion. I don’t actually know if my sheets were changed as I was there a month and developed a rash. Finally, I noticed a broken fire alarm that appeared to be taped to the ceiling, the fan switch in the bedroom was completely broken, the water made my laundry smell like poo and a bunch of (assumingly teenagers) had a few parties on the third floor during my stay. As much as this place is ‘cheap’ for the location - for the concern of my own health and wellbeing I would not stay here.

Kellie on reception was very friendly and helpful, as well as patient with me when I kept entering the wrong pin number for debit card. My husband & I had a comfortable 8 night stay. Our apartment was quiet & private at the back of the building with a large verandah. Everything worked well and aircon was brilliant. Shower water pressure was great with good temperature. Pool & Spa area are well maintained. Our apartment was serviced half way through our stay which was much appreciated. This location can't be beaten! Everything required is within a short walk. NOTE TO OWNER OF APARTMENT 2. Something needs to be done to cover up the unsightly brown stains on the side of the washing machine beside the toilet, or replace with new machine. We freaked out when we first saw it, then on closer inspection my husband said it looks like rust coming from washing machine. The apartment is nice and has a lot going for it, so it is such a shame about the appearance of the washing machine.

Older style low rise apartments. Spotlessly clean, good WIFI, streaming channels, aircon, washer & dryer, full kitchen, hot shower and comfy bed. Excellent location. Very quiet, coffee shop across the road, beach, walking path, park and playground at end of the road. Oasis shopping centre & Woolies less than 5 minute walk and easy walk to Pacific Fair and Broadbeach restaurants. Highly recommend

Room was in decent condition. A couple stains on the carpet which isn't a problem really. Dishes were a bit dirty when I arrived, needed to give them a wipe down before I used them. Staff were friendly. Power went out one time when returning to resort which resulted in me and a couple other people being locked out of our rooms. No staff on site as it was sunday and after hours but managed to get in after 15 mins from another resident opening the door and luckily the room door lock was on battery backup. Hot water was the biggest gripe however. Having a shower there sucked as the water would constantly go from hot to cold and back. Almost burnt myself a couple times not expecting the water to go to boiling hot after turning to cold water down due to the shower being cold. Seems like the hot water pressure was going back and forth causing more or less hot water to come out increasing or decreasing the temperature.

The accommodation was close to where we needed to be. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The air conditioner was located in the lounge, not the bedroom. It took awhile to cool the bedroom down.

Parking available underneath building. Helpful to have washing machine and dryer. Clean apartment with good facilities but a bit dated. Helpful communication pre arrival. Close to beach, two malls and dining option

I really enjoyed the location, it was quiet and close to everything that mattered to me. I was able to go for a beach walk in the morning before my conference started.
