Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide

We recently stayed at Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide and unfortunately had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the reception staff were absolutely lovely—friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. We really appreciated being allowed to leave our car in the carpark until after the football, which saved us some extra money and made the day much easier. The view was also amazing, and we were lucky enough to be treated to some fireworks from our balcony! However, the biggest letdown was the cleanliness of the room. We paid an extra $50 at the counter to upgrade to a balcony room, but sadly it didn’t feel worth it. The room had visible cobwebs, fingerprints all over the windows and TV, and just generally felt like it hadn’t been properly cleaned. There were also a few issues with the TVs—the lounge room TV wasn’t connected to the hotel’s internet, and the bedroom TV had poor reception and kept freezing, which was frustrating. The draws in the room were also broken and could not be used. The bed itself was clean, which we appreciated—but when checking out, Tony noticed something black sticking out from under the bed, thinking it was his sock. It turned out to be someone else’s T-shirt, which was pretty off-putting. Overall, the staff and location were great, and this could have been a really enjoyable stay—but the cleanliness really let it down. With better attention to detail in housekeeping, this place could be fantastic.

Excellent location, terribly uncomfortable bed

I have stayed at the Grosvener hotel a few times over the years and find the location great,close to Rundle Mall,The train station,casino and many great eateries. Rooms are clean and tidy. Staff were accommodating and helpful. You can get a continental breakfast which was ok but could offer a few more options. We did have trouble with the bathroom door being very hard to shut and the main door to room didn’t shut unless you gave it a push. The down side of our stay was construction noise from a nearby building that began Saturday night at around 11pm and didn’t stop until about 4am,so loud,but understand that this is not the fault of the hotel. All that considered we do like staying here.

Great affordable place close to everything. Would just be nice if we could adjust the climate in our room.

Fridge was too cold, milk was frozen. Couldn't have a coffee. Bathroom floor very slippery when wet

Approximately 50% of all the rooms in the hotel have no windows to the outside but to a 2-3 meter wide ventilation shift. You can‘t open the window, the room is always very dark, you will need the light on even when the sun is shining, the air conditioning is loud and you always have an unpleasant smell. I never would book the room again. Horrible.

Staff great, room perfect for a one night stopover, Probably wouldn't recommend longer if you want more than just a bed ,bath/shower. Australia has more channels on free to air than the Grovenser offers, If you want anything to watch on TV besides the basic channels expect to pay for it. $15 - 35 for a movie. Oh and they have a porn channel - not free, so if you're into that then this is the place for you. So yeah that kinda vibe I wouldn't define the Grovenser as family friendly, but overall a good place to stay on your way to somewhere.

Good location and value.

Staff were nice and room was great. The only improvement I can think of is including a microwave in the room.

Excellent stay! Reception and house keeping staff were very helpful, answered our questions and accomodated our needs. Location excellent - close to Adelaide University. Will come back again.

Room well appointed, staff very courteous and great location

Room was spacious, clean with good facilities. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Hotel location good for city centre and perfect for the Oval and many cultural venues along North Terrace
