I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Delta hotel Durham that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by the warm smiles of the staff, who were not only friendly but also genuinely eager to assist with anything I needed. The cleanliness of the hotel was impressive. My room was spotless, and it was clear that the housekeeping staff takes great pride in their work. The common areas were equally well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. One of the highlights of my stay was the dining experience. The food was delicious, with a diverse menu that catered to various tastes. Whether I was enjoying breakfast or dinner, each meal was a delight. Comfort was another standout feature of, My room was cozy and well-appointed, making it a perfect retreat after a long day. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Overall, my experience was fantastic. With its clean accommodations, friendly staff, delectable food, and comfortable atmosphere, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. When we arrived, we were informed there would be no housekeeping in our room as we were nly there for 2 nights, but could ask for extra towels if we wanted them. In our double room, there was only one towel in the bathroom, this had a large orange stain on it. The location of the hotel was good, central. There is car parking, but it isn't cheap. We only had breakfast in the hotel, which was reasonable, on a par with Premier Inn. The decor in the rooms was tired, the bed was comfortable. Bar was expensive and lacked atmosphere, but they happily exchanged my drink when they had served me the wrong wine!

Staff were all fine. Reception area bright and clean. Elsewhere the hotel building appeared tired / worn, with some frayed carpet, creaking floorboards and scuffed doors. Bar closed at 2200 - I checked in just after this time and would have liked to sit with a pint (room service was offered until 2230, but a lonely beer on my own in my room did not appeal! Headed into town to find a pub instead). Breakfast ok but the cooked breakfast was a bit greasy (especially the hash browns and bacon). Again, not terrible by any means, but it didn’t feel like the luxury hotel offering that Marriott used to feel like. I appreciate some of these issues are due to the old, historic buildings, but things like the bar hours or breakfast quality are - unfortunately- being surpassed by Premier Inn or Radisson Blu, both nearby hotels we use occasionally .

Friendly welcome and handy parking. This hotel is in a great location for visiting Durham. Our room was big and had everything we needed for our short stay. We didn’t sleep well though as there was quite a bit of noise from the nearby doors and from water running somewhere nearby- perhaps the bathroom above or heating/boiler system. This woke us throughout the night. We would happily stay here again as we are regular visitors to Durham, but would request a different room.

We didn’t sleep well though as there was quite a bit of noise from the nearby doors and from water running somewhere nearby- perhaps the bathroom above or heating/boiler system. This woke us throughout the night. We would happily stay here again as we are regular visitors to Durham, but would request a different room.

Nice room looking over river. Comfortable bed. Difficult to regulate temperature in room- verging on cool. Bathroom was freezing-like being outside. Floor was like ice. Did they forget to put a radiator or underfloor heating?! Breakfast was perfectly satisfactory
