DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon

A very convenient hotel, room was large, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. The check-out time of 12.00 was a surprise and very welcome as we were en route to an afternoon wedding and the venue was only 10 miles away.

Nice room, pity they don’t have rooms with walk in showers as my wife struggles to climb in/out of bath. Irks me to pay for parking in an out of town location, how else would I get there without transport?

Disappointed with the room service experience. At check-in, I asked about room service and was told to use the QR code in my room. When I scanned it, it showed a very limited menu available from 11pm, so I assumed this was the room service menu. I wasn’t feeling well during my stay and needed food brought to my room. I called reception three times with no answer. I also contacted Hotels.com, who said a manager would get back to me, but nobody ever followed up during my two-night stay. Later, I called the hotel from my mobile because I couldn’t reach reception from my room. I was then transferred to the restaurant, who took my order and delivered food without any issue. The most frustrating part was being directed to the QR code at check-in, which made it seem like the limited menu was the only option. I searched the website, app and QR menu trying to work out how to order food and ended up not eating at all on my first day. I’m also disappointed that nobody responded despite my attempts to contact reception and the promised follow-up from management. Other than that, the hotel was clean, quiet, easy to park at and had excellent air conditioning. The mattress wasn’t very comfortable, but the room was otherwise fine.

the hote staff are amazing willing to help, The room Aircon didnt work and the rooms we like an oven the bathrooms could do with updating and modenising along with Bed withing the rooms it was the most uncomfortable hard mattress and every turn you did it creaked breakfast we good and again the staff were polite and really helpful

Hotel room had a very unclean toilet Offered a different room that stank of cigarette smoke Reception manage was rude and unhelpful

Had to remove 2 spiders from the room on 2 consecutive days. Cushions very squishy and not supportive, didn’t sleep well. Others in our group had same issue. Beds were on high the side for someone 5’7’ and on the firm side.

We stayed one night on our way to Cornwall, it was really nice place to break the journey. We had our dog with us and he was made very welcome with his own bag of treats while we enjoyed the classic Doubletree cookie! We arrived in time to eat at the bistro in the evening and the food was good. The bed was comfortable enough and the shower was decent. Breakfast quality was really good and they were still bringing out fresh cooked food close to 11am. The only negative was the coffee from the machine - so bitter it was undrinkable. We would definitely stay again.

Only downside was the bar and bar food. The queue to get served was insane. One person serving at the main hotel bar.

The bar area and restaurant were very nice although we ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food was good but we felt rushed and I ordered a glass of rose which was warm. We felt the bedrooms were very outdated, the beds were very hard, lumpy and too low. The lighting in the bedroom by the desk/dressing table was non existent. The room was cleaned but we were not given any toilet roll.

Breakfast was undercooked, eggs and sausages were raw and reception staff were a little unpleasant. Other than that, the hotel, most of the staff and facilities were good and I’d stay again.

I couldn't find a fault with our stay. The hot cookie was nice on arrival and also had a vegan menu which was pleasing for the wife. There were plenty of good breakfast options.

Bed frame was very squeaky when sit on it. Front desk told me that its the same in the other remaining room which was true to my surprise. Room was muggy warm, needed to use a fan to cool down; window locked closed. Bathroom was missing a set of towels for 2nd person. Front desk was friendly trying to help. Buffet Breakfast was good though.

Spacious room with comfortable bed and sofa bed, lovely to have a bath tub with fast running hot water and the warm cookies on arrival was a great touch, would stay again.

They really need to change the beds and improve the food in the kitchen. Breakfast was better than the evening meal. Not being able to sleep well due to a shockingly poor bed is unacceptable.

The hotel staff were lovely but the room smelt really over sprayed and set off my allergies terribly. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable but the bed was lovely .

We came all the way from San Diego and Steph that worked at the front desk made our experience at this hotel absolutely wonderful. We can’t wait to come back and stay here again! Thank you.
