Owl, Hambleton by Marston's Inns

Abit dated in the room but clean and the shower was good but didn't drain. The family room had a spare bed in the corber that has no plug sockets or light switches by the bed. A lamp/bedside table would be nice. Breakfast was good but service a little slow.

Was a great location for our over night stop. Comfortable room, great stuff.

The room was ok apart from the cobwebs. The bathroom was terrible and used it as little as possible. The bath was dirty with mould, the toilet seat was loose and we had to kill 7 spiders before my daughter would even enter as she’s terrified of them. The staff were impolite at times and all need to learn how to smile! The food was mediocre and not all options available. We had another stay booked for the following week which we promptly cancelled. It was in a good location for my daughters cricket match but will not be returning

Comfortable room bit od traffic noise at night as adjacent to road & pub car park. Nice pub alongside with good food & drinks. Friendly knowledgeable. Handy for my business needs in Selby.

Great location for i night out in Selby, hotel was spacious room was very good, and the pub and restaurant downstairs are very popular with the locals

Amazing staff. Excellent breakfast (thank you for providing that for us, we appreciated it!). Loved the room and the comfort. Despite the heat (30C, which isn't common in Yorkshire), we both loved the stay and the welcoming staff. Will definitely return if we're passing through again!

Convenient hotel for a local stay. Easy to find & large car park. Check-in simple (assumed pre-checked in online). Staff welcoming & friendly. Room was relatively modern & clean and had a decent shower. The room was in the original building though & had several flights of stairs to access - not ideal if you've mobility issues; fine for us though. Breakfast offer was OK & the quality fine for the price, service/food could be quicker. Bar good with reasonable selection of drinks at standard pricing.

second stay first was good this time room supposed to have desk but room was so small this was not the case or as described very poor

We (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed for one night. Pros: the Family Room was very large, more like a suite as the kids had their own small room with two beds off the main room. The ‘double’ bed was huge, and the pillows are the comfiest I’ve ever slept on - my husband said it was the best night’s sleep he’s ever had in a hotel! There’s plenty of parking available, the area feels safe and is very quiet. Only 35mins drive into York (which was the main reason for our stay), but not even half the price of more central hotels. Well worth the drive! Cons: the only things to note are that the floorboards are quite creaky, so I imagine if you’re on the ground floor you might find it noisy. And the bathroom could definitely do with a spruce up (small amount of mould in the grout, peeling paint from the bath panel etc). Overall we had a lovely stay, and will definitely be back!

Stayed here as I was on business close by and it was spot-on. Friendly staff, excellent food in the evening, and a fantastic breakfast to set me up for the day.
