Mercure Amsterdam City

While the hotel was generally clean, we were disappointed by the lack of some basic amenities we’ve come to expect—such as timely room service and the availability of washcloths. The room itself felt quite cramped. Although the staff we interacted with were friendly and courteous, overall service fell short. After returning one evening to find our room untouched, we had to contact the front desk for fresh towels and tidying. Throughout our stay, small but important details were repeatedly overlooked—used mugs sat for days, tea condiments weren’t restocked, and basic items like toilet paper and tissues weren’t replenished. We’ve stayed at a nearby hotel with the same star rating and similar pricing, and the experience there was noticeably more comfortable and well-maintained.

Good hotel and location providing you’re happy being 15-20 mins drive to the city centre.

Nice room, and had a view over the city horizon. Used the sauna in the morning, which they turned on for me. Good customer service, they were always available for questions and a helping hand. We also stored our luggage after check-out, which helped us a lot since our plane left in the evening. Nice distance from the metro and the city center. Would recommend staying here!

Here’s a revised version: The hotel's name is misleading, as it's not located in the city or nearby. To reach the nearest train station, you need to walk at least 15 minutes, followed by another 15-minute ride to Amsterdam Central Station, where other connections begin. Regarding the hotel services, the experience was disappointing. Upon arrival at 7 PM on the check-in day, our room wasn’t ready then we have been allocated to other room which we didn’t like it. The shower gel bottles were empty, and the next day, room service was not provided. Towels were not replaced either. Breakfast was passable, offering an English-style spread, but lacked options like omelettes. Overall didn’t like the stay.

The room was comfortable, very clean and had a Nespresso machine. We can fill a water bottle at the reception service area. The location is good, just 5 minutes to the Metro station. Around the hotel there's no cafe, supermarket or shopping area. So, if you need something snack or breakfast, you should get them at the city.

Very nice hotel but a shame checking in was poor and not much near by

Housekeeping service extremely weak, front desk not once apologized once complained about issues in the bathroom! Unique experience!

Sauberkeit der Dusche. Im Eingangsbereich und im Aufenthaltsbereichen. Desweiteren war das Parken für Hotel Gäste sehr teuer.

Nice, clean hotel, easy access to airport. But too far from the town centre. We have to get an Uber, and it costs a fortune over 3 days.

Poor lighting in room and bathroom. Glad I don’t have makeup to apply, I’m sure if my wife was travelling with me she would have commented. Lack of power sockets - phone is plugged into guest socket should be plugged in below / behind bed. Light switches for bathroom should be my bathroom door and not 2 metres away by front door.

Friendly and professional staff, room was very comfortable and modern.

It was great however the TV channels didn’t work and also Airplay to watch your own stuff on the TV didn’t work when spoken to the attendant they disclaimed all rooms were like this so there was no need for them to tease me with a TV.

Was a nice place with easy access to Amsterdam using the metro
