Sofia Balkan Palace

Forgot my shoes in my first room where AC didn't work, as I was moved to another room, staff said they never found them... Make your own conclusions...

Ich hatte das grosse Glüxk ein Double Upgrade zu erhalten. Das bedeutet ich hatte ein Zimmer auf der 6 Etage mit einer Loggia Terrase. Wunderbarer Ausblick über Sofia. Das Zimmer war eine Duplex Suite mit 2 riesige Flat TV, Terrasse und großen Badezimmer( Rainshower). Das Frühstück war schlichtweg grandios: Eine opulente Auswahl von feinen Lachs-Variationen und erlesenem Käse über frischen Kuchen und frisch zubereitete Eierspeisen bis hin zu prickelndem Champagner ließ keine Wünsche offen.“

Hotel was in an excellent location. Very nicely styled hotel with very friendly staff. Our room was beautiful. No blind in the bathroom and paint on ceiling in shower peeling off - you would think it would get fixed as an easy one. On first look breakfast appeared to be good - lots of choice and nice looking fruit etc…however most of the hot choices were luke warm. A real shame as something they could sort. Overall I would recommend staying - just be prepared for breakfast not being great

A renovated room but with cockroaches walking all around the floor all night long. Must sleep with lights on and a slipper nearby to hit them as they climb out of the walls. The hotel doesn't have spa or gym, so there isn't much to do. The lobby bar has very small basic menu and they also don't bring out half of ingredients in the menu. Breakfast buffet is good. The check-in and check-out staff are excellent. The hotel is in the central location close to all the good shops and government offices. Would be a decent place if not for the infestation.

Chambre pas assez propre pour le standing. Chambres pas insonorisées. Bien localiser proche station métro et rue principale avec de nombreux restaurants.

Chambre luxueuses mais sol pas très propre. Personnel serviable et à l'écoute des clients. Petit déjeuner correct sans plus.

The breakfast and the staff were awesome! The location is first rate! I would definitely stay here again

Dirty floor, including visible stains and spill marks; Signs of mould and moisture in the corners of the room; Darkened/dried streaks of liquid on the wall; Scuffed, scratched and stained walls; Torn and worn-out curtains. Receptionist even didn't ask about my stay or for any issues; in the breakfast restaurant the roof was leaking 😒, breakfast was basic, no fresh bakery/pastries...

Kregen zelfs een upgrade. Hotel was schoon en groot precies wat nodig was. Alles is in de buurt perfecte plek voor in sofia

クラシックな外観と内装が人気のホテルです。地下鉄ソルディカ駅（ソフィアの中心駅）近くで、空港からも直通で30分と立地は非常に良いです。歴史のある建物なので、シャワーの水圧が弱く、お湯の温度も低いので、冬の滞在は日本人には不向きかも知れません。

THE MOST AMAZING LOCATION ONE COULD WISH FOR! EVERYTHING IN SOFIA IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE HOTEL.

ヴィトウシャ大通りの手前に位置していて、遺跡や寺院も近くにあり、とても良い立地と部屋も綺麗で快適でした。

Centrally located to main sightseeing areas, and next to Serdika train station which is convenient. Staff not overly friendly or helpful. Room is neat, but dusty in some areas. Had issues with the curtain and bathroom door not being able to be closed. Maintenance was quickly dispatched which was great. He fixed the curtain, but looked at the bathroom door and said 'big job', then walked off. He never came back to fix it the next day. Had an issue with a double booking being made due to a third party website glitch which resulted in me being charged twice for identical bookings made for the same dates. Had alot of issues trying to get refund from the hotel (who were adamant that they weren't going to refund the duplicate booking charge as it was a 'non-refundable' booking. Yes, I understand what this means - however, I'm appalled that a "five" star hotel is so greedy that they chose to keep the small amount (around $210 AUD) for the booking over showing some good will and making an exception when they can clearly see it's been a double booking error by the agency website. Staff at reception NOT HELPFUL at all - they kept giving me the runaround eg. see reservation team, they're not working on weekends, talk to the agency instead etc. Still have not received refund from hotel or agency. This will surely cost the hotel more in lost revenue due to word of mouth & poor reviews from myself in future

sehr gute Lage. Rezeptionsmitarbeiter zwar freundlich , aber überfordert historisches Ambiente , aber renoviert und modern den Anforderungen eines 5* Hotel angepaßt !! Frühstück sehr gut und reichhaltig

El hotel aparenta ser un lugar elegante, céntrico y lujoso, fue una decepción, el aire acondicionado no funcionaba, el teléfono de la habitacion para llamar a recepción y hacer referencia a cualquier falla era imposible, tienes que bajar hasta recepción y hablar con alguno de los sumamente saturados recepcionistas, la limpieza diaria era mala, no habia lugar para colgar las toallas, el closet era un simple tuvo a la vista, me cambie de hotel y Armonía de estar en Sofia mejoró, los asesores parecen los del hundido Titanic, el gimnasio es feo, no inspira a hacer un buen entrenamiento.
