Red Lion Hotel

The room was great value for the money and the bed very comfortable. I slept very well. There was a wedding on and a bit of noise but nothing bad and the hotel do let you know about possible noise from such things and adjoining pubs etc . I was tired and the bed so comfy that I was out and that was it !

Great location, but the room was roasting when I stayed - noted that it was during a heatwave, there was a fan in the room but this was very low powered and there was a tiny opening to the window, but because of this it was very difficult to sleep. Unfortunately no air conditioning.

Great location for everything in the town. Free parking also a great bonus. Didn't use the bar or have breakfast but all the staff l meet very friendly and polite. Room(50)was a bit tired but very clean and great value for the price. Would definitely stay again👍

Veldig god lokasjon i forhold til sentrum (Festival Place - the Mall) og togstasjonen. Hotellet virker veldig slitt og rommet var av samme standard. Når det er sagt så vat sengen fin og gid å sove i. Rensligheten var veldig bra, og det så rent og fint ut hver kveld når vi kom tilbake til hotellrommet. Benyttet oss ikke av hverken romservice eller av restauranten/frokosten da vi fant veldig gode og billigere alternativer i sentrum

This was our second time staying a few nights here for Carfest and I couldn't fault it. Excellent value for money. It's not 5* but we didn't pay 5* price, so expect a decent 3* and you will be sure to have a good stay. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and nothing was too much bother. Our room this time was a tad on the small side for all the clobber we brought with us, but we managed. The previous time, the room was fine, so just depends on room availability. I wouldn't have put them to all the trouble of changing for an extra foot or two. If you want a larger room guaranteed, then pay extra. Breakfast was good and gave us what we needed for the day ahead and if anything had run out in the buffet, it was replenished quickly. Sometimes, a little patience is all that is needed at busy times when other guests unexpectedly decide they do want to pay extra for breakfast at the last minute!! Not sure that can be planned for with budgetary constraints. If we are in that neck of the woods again, I would happily re-book to stay there. Thank you to all the staff we came into contact with and those we didn't - your service was much appreciated.

Staff were very helpful. Our room was very nice and clean. Disappointed there was no chef or bar facilities at lunch time. Breakfast a bit disappointing as not much to choose from although this wasn’t the hotel’s fault is was more to do with greedy guests. It does state one visit to the hot food however it didn’t appear that anyone took any notice of that.
