Staff was friendly (reception, breakfast staff, room service and housecleaning). Breakfast was perfect as it eliminated one meal cost for the day (so factor that into your room charge when evaluating other hotels). Saw prior unfavorable comments about the A/C - our room stayed cool even with the warm outside temperatures - we kept the drapes closed. Others said it was noisy, but if you don’t mind a slightly louder white noise machine, it is bearable (rather than the alternative). Convenient to main train station, old town, main shopping and lake. Would definitely recommend!

The reception staff were extremely helpful from the moment we arrived. The hotel is conveniently situated with a very pleasant lounge where coffee and water are available. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff in the breakfast room were most efficient and cheerful. A good choice of hotel for visiting Zurich.

Bra hotell, men trenger litt oppussing. Særlig når det gjelder air condition. Var mye tull med vårt rom og de hadde ikke ny som kunne byttes. Fikk tilbud om ekstra vifte. Heldigvis var det ikke alt for varmt på rommet. God og enkel frokost. God service. Gode senger. Veldig bra plassering og mange restauranter i nærheten.

Let me be blunt on this property. Location is great, right in the heart of old town if that is where you want or need to be. However the rest of the property is pretty beaten up. The pictures must be from when it was originally opened. We booked the Superior Double Room and it was old and beat up. There is no real AC and when Europe is going through another heatwave the tiny little after the fact AC unit doesn't do any good. At just under $400 a night I was expecting a bit more after having just traveled for 2 weeks around Switzerland and Austria this was a disappointment. Worst part was we asked where to get a Taxi as it is in a unique spot we thought we just had to walk a block or so. The front desk said no worries they can call a taxi for us. Well they have a car pick us up, not a Taxi and it is basically a limo but didn't know it was going to cost $82 CHF for a 13 minute ride to the airport. I would have just walked and found myself a cab for $20. Not trying to be cheap, easily spent $20,000 in the two weeks were were there for everything but just disappointed.

This was a disastrous stay. Despite the premium prices this hotel charges, their maintenance is diabolical. I had to call various staff 4 times before they fixed the portable air conditioner in my room. This ranged from not informing us that the aircon would stop working if it filled up with water to the outlet pipe repeatedly falling out of the window vent. On the fourth complaint, the front office assured me it would be sorted out while I was out for the day. We got back to our hotel at around 1.30pm and NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE. When I went down to the front desk the Receptionist looked at me as if this was the first time I was reporting this. She had no explanation as to why the issue had not been sorted out. I asked to see the General Manger. I got various muted responses as to why I couldn’t see him, from him leaving for holiday that day to not knowing when he would be back. What General Manger takes a holiday during peak season? Eventually the Front Office Manager intervened and got the situation sorted. What an awful experience. The only excellent staff were the breakfast staff. They were fantastic!!

The hotel was very central for our needs. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was a good size but the bathroom was tiny. I booked a superior room and going by the photos on Expedia, these bathrooms looked much bigger. The bathroom we had did not feature on any of the pictures. The hotel does not appear to have proper installed air conditioning. We had a portable air con unit with a pipe going out of the window but it wasn’t very effective. We complained and they gave us a fan too.

We had a great stay overall. The location is excellent and within walking distance of several great restaurants, making it easy to explore the area. The complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus and a great way to start the day. The only downside was the air conditioning. If you prefer to sleep in a cold room, it may not be ideal since it's a portable plug-in unit and the room stayed quite warm at night. Also, if you book through Expedia, keep in mind that the complimentary Expedia beverages do not include alcoholic drinks. Overall, it was a good stay. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the room clean, and I would consider staying here again.

The hotel is ideally situated for a tourist in old city. Restaurants, shops and transit are at your doorstep. We walked with our suitcase from Zurich HB and it was easy and almost completely level. The hotel has elevators and AIR CONDITIONING! our room was much larger than I expected. Breakfast is included which is a perk in an expensive city. My only complaints were the threadbare towels in the bathroom and the complete lack of any Swiss staff. Overall, I recommend this hotel.

Boutique Hotel Wellenberg was the perfect home base for exploring Zurich. Located in the heart of the Old Town, everything was within easy walking distance—from restaurants and cafés to the river, shopping, and many of the city’s top attractions. The hotel itself is beautiful, combining historic charm with modern comfort. Our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it a relaxing place to unwind after a full day of sightseeing. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always happy to offer recommendations or assist with anything we needed. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. There was an excellent selection of fresh pastries, fruits, cheeses, hot dishes, and coffee to start each morning before heading out to explore Switzerland. Overall, Boutique Hotel Wellenberg exceeded our expectations. With its unbeatable location, friendly service, comfortable accommodations, and delicious breakfast, I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zurich.

熱波のせいでチューリッヒ自体がとても暑かったのですが、エアコンのおかげで涼しくすごせました。テラスでいただく朝食が、とてもよかったです。旧市街の街中にありながらまったくうるさくなく、心地よく滞在できました。

We really enjoy staying at the hotel. Centrally located in town. There were many restaurants and shops. Great breakfast in a garden. We traveled with the wheelchair, they arranged the room that was closer to buffet and elevator. Staffs were very friendly.

Beautiful boutique hotel right in the middle of the Old Town Zürich. It’s close to everything you need to see within walking distance. They have an excellent buffet breakfast that you can have out on the terrace or inside every day. We would recommend staying here.

This boutique hotel is surrounded with restaurants, shopping and walking distance to sightseeing. The hotel is very clean and the front desk attendant was friendly, efficient and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was very good and the servers were very friendly and attentive to the patrons. The area is safe and you can chill and browse at the shops nearby. This is an excellent spot to stay in Zurich. Love this place so much!
