Hong Kong Airlines (HX) is a full-service airline based in Hong Kong. Established in 2006, the airline has been recognized as one of the best international carriers in Hong Kong. In 2011, Skytrax gave 4-star rating to the airline for its warmth and high quality onboard services. Three years after, in 2014, Hong Kong Airlines has been awarded by Skytrax as the World’s Best Improved Airlines.
“Fresh and Very Hong Kong” is the slogan of Hong Kong Airlines. The company use Bauhinia flower as its logo, which is also featured on the flag of Hong Kong. Passengers can taste a glimpse of the local flavor in its inflight meals. Hong Kong Airlines serves selected delicious Hong Kong cuisines.

For the flight safety and convenience, Hong Kong Airlines has some baggage policies. The maximum weight of the cabin baggage is 7 kg. Economy class passengers are allowed to bring one piece of carry-on baggage, while Business class passengers are allowed to bring two pieces of carry-on baggage. Meanwhile, the maximum weight of free checked baggage allowance is 20 kg for Economy class and 30 kg for Business class.
Hong Kong Airlines fleets consists of 25 aircrafts. Currently, the airline serves flight to almost 30 destinations, such as Beijing, Bali, Sapporo, and Okinawa.

In 2006, CR Airways Limited was renamed as Hong Kong Airlines. The airline launched its routes in September, serving Hong Kong to cities in People’s Republic of China (PRC) with Boeing B737 as its first aircraft.
Throughout its history, 2010 was an important milestone for Hong Kong Airlines. That year, the airline officially joined International Air Transport Association (IATA) and expanded its routes to Beijing, Shanghai, and Bangkok. It also introduced its first Airbus A330 passenger aircraft and Airbus A330F cargo.
In 2011, Skytrax gave 4-stars rating to Hong Kong Airlines. The airline hit a new record of passenger traffic exceeded one million and serving 19 destinations. In 2012, Hong Kong Airlines launched its new route to Taipei and reached 2.5 millions of passenger traffic.
Hong Kong Airlines showed a huge development in 2013 by replacing all of their Boeing aircrafts with Airbus fleet. A year after, the airline increased its service to four flights to Beijing and five flights to Shanghai daily. In 2015, Hong Kong Airlines was awarded by HKIA Airport Safety Recognition Scheme Awards.
The design of Hong Kong Airlines’ flight attendant (FA) uniform is based on the flexibility and comfort. The uniforms for both male and female FA are colored in dark purple. For the female FA, the uniform has two red short stripes along the chest to the hip. An addition of a red scarf around the neck makes the crew look more stylish.
Hong Kong Airlines inflight meals menu are served depending on the passenger class, routes and flight durations. The inflight meals are very well prepared and cooked with the best ingredients. Passengers can also request special meals at least 24 hours before the departure by contacting the airline.
