Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre West Edmonton

The hotel was advertised as having a pool but was closed for the entire 4 nights that we stayed there. When we first checked in they said the pool would be open the next day. This was not true as the pool never opened. If I had know there was not going to be a pool I would have booked somewhere else.

Parking, layout of our room, the AC WAS AMAZING, quiet area, fast check in and check out, friendly, loved how clean our room was to definitely a better experience then my last hotel stay (a completely different radisson hotel), the only thing i would live to mention is the building layout for the elevators you’d have to walk 5-7 mins to get to your hotel room once you got onto your floor, so when we brought in all of our bags it was a little difficult.

We were told upon checking in that we would be one of the first to stay in their fully renovated rooms, so we got excited. It is a much older hotel but they are working on it and I have no doubt it will beautiful when the Reno’s are completed. The bathtub was clean and new looking, however when using the shower it has a leak somewhere and the bathroom floors would be covered in water, along with all vinyl flooring which was very nice. Our issues were all room related- There was no alarm clock The tv remote worked sometimes, it needed new batteries There are no plug ins by the side of the beds for us to plug in electronics we needed to use, like laptop, iPad and iPhones. Even the night stand lamp that had a plug in option would not fit the new iPhone block; so that was disappointing. The ice machines are on floor 3 & 5; 3rd floor was out of service so every time we wanted ice we’d have to go to the very top. I think and ice machine should be on the first floor as well.

Room smelled of stale smoke. Hotel overall felt dingy. Pool was gross with skin flakes, hair etc floating in it.

Since the change in ownership, the quality of this hotel has declined dramatically. I have been a loyal guest for more than two years, and unfortunately, it is no longer the establishment it once was. There have been multiple instances of unexplained charges appearing on guests' credit cards. When contacting the hotel for answers, staff are often unable to provide a clear explanation or resolution. This lack of accountability is concerning and creates unnecessary frustration for customers. The check-in process has become extremely inefficient, with waits often exceeding 20 minutes. Basic customer service standards that were once commonplace now seem to be the exception rather than the rule. On more than one occasion, overnight staff appeared inattentive and unprofessional while on duty. What is most disappointing is the loss of many of the experienced employees who helped make this hotel a reliable and welcoming place to stay. Many of the long-standing staff members have either left or been pushed out since the ownership change, and the decline in service has been noticeable ever since. As someone who has spent considerable time and money at this property over the past two years, I can honestly say that I will no longer be staying here. It is disappointing to see a hotel with so much potential deteriorate so quickly. I hope management takes guest concerns seriously and makes meaningful improvements before more long-term customers decide to take their business elsewhere.

Additionally, there have been occasions where overnight staff appeared disengaged from their duties, creating an unprofessional impression for guests. Many of the long-term employees who helped make this hotel a welcoming place have either left or been replaced. The loss of experienced staff is evident in the day-to-day operation of the property and has contributed to a noticeable decline in service standards. As someone who has stayed here consistently for over two years, it is disappointing to see the direction the hotel has taken under the new ownership. Unfortunately, based on my recent experiences, I can no longer recommend this property and will be choosing alternative accommodations in the future

check in over 20 minutes, smoke detector going off in room beeping every minute, charged me for no reason and offered me a free night to compensate me for their issue 10/10 don't recommend staying here

There currently rebuilding the hotel. Be interesting to see the upgrades. The new rooms look great will try it in the future when complete
