Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel

Super location and rooms with a sea view were lovely.

The room was very clean and spacious. The layout of the hotel is a bit odd, with us having to walk across the back parking lot to access the wing our room was in. The hotel itself is in a perfect location for the beach and pier, with one of the public lifts located right outside the front, which takes you down the cliff for a small fee. We did have one oddity, upon check-in our room wasn’t ready, so I took my 3 year old to the pool while we waited, but was told we weren’t allowed to access it until our room was ready… I have stayed at hotels all over the world and never heard of not being able to access the hotel amenities on the day of check-in. This was quite annoying. All in all it was a nice little getaway, just not as accommodating as other hotels I have been to, especially in the Marriott family, I would have expected better.

We booked the hotel for a short break for our 10th wedding anniversary. The room exceeded our expectations and it looked much better then the pictures online. The restaurant was excellent, so was the outdoor swimming pool. The only thing that wasn't great was a corporate party taking place underneath our room which we were not told about at the point of booking. When I called reception I was told the party would finish at 23.00 which it didn't. When we called again we were told it would finish at midnight and it did. When you pay for a premium stay you expect a premium stay and unfortunately it did not deliver across the board. It is a shame as the facilities and staff were excellent.

The property is out dated needing a new coat of paint and updating the furniture and decor in General.parking one's car is a nightmare as the parking is run by a company not linked to the hotel The luch bar food was very bad and over price ,I had a beef baguette which was tough and unapetising, the food in the evenig was very good I understand the catering is run by a different company called BLANC which sounds French however it is inconvenient to have to pay eachtime you went to a catering outlet as usually the bill is put to your room to settle at the end of your stay the service staff is very willing but short in numbers and untrained with no supervision I had a drink in the bar and was constantily disturbed by noises of empting bottles being bined The reception staff were the only one looking professionel and helpfull the restaurant staff had no uniform ad looked rather shaby Prices are very high for what you get and I would not recommend the hotel however the view over the sea was spectacular Alain Belment

The standard of dining in Bournemouth overall is low. Considering that the hotel rates on 3 stars.

King bed was more like a double no replacement available and standard facilities

Spent 3 nights at this hotel had a sea view room 207 which was lovely. Parking at the back of hotel £15 per night on a first come first serve basis, friendly staff. Rooms cleaned every day and coffee tea and milk topped up plus water in the fridge. Hand wash lotion shampoo conditioner in room.A 10 minute walk down to the pier which has a large hill to walk back up. Very central. The hotel has a lovely breakfast with a lot of variety friendly waitresses , if wanting to stay in the hotel the drinks are reasonably priced. We didn’t eat at the hotel in the evening as we liked to try different places which was worth doing .well worth try Harry Ransom’s fish and chips.Tourist information near the pier to give advice. Would highly recommend exploring outside hotel but you could always use a taxi instead of walking up the hill. If we ever went back to Bournemouth we would use this hotel.

We always choose to stay at this hotel when we are in the area. Superb service and accommodations.

Stayed in one of the newly renovated cottage rooms, absolutely lovely place and very helpful staff, only downside is there was little on site parking so it took us ages to get parked and all the off site parking was full too but hotel 5/5 would 100% stay again

Great location, right near the pier and beach with welcoming reception and bar/restaurant area. Unfortunately hotel is a little run down and for those not staying in the main building, it felt rather underwhelming walking through the car park to another wing..

Reception staff was nice but the manager (name Callum) was very rude and not educated.

Great location as close to the town and the beach but a little quieter as just slightly off the beat and track.

Another great stay here! All the staff were very helpful apart from the lady behind the bar on Saturday evening. She was very abrupt and rude but Jamie saved the day with his hospitality.

Could of had on site entertainment as way up on top of cliff , also on site restaurant closes at 5pm , Otherwise clean with friendly staff , who were very helpful. Good range of breakfast options too.
