Royal Eagle Hotel

Ett bra medelklass hotell. Rent och snyggt. Ganska ok frukost. Nära till station och annat. Ganska litet rum och minimalt badrum.

The staff was great and made every attempt to make the stay comfortable. That being said, the accommodations were quite disappointing, and not as advertised! Based on the photos presented on Expedia, the room was very small, think very small college dorm. I had requested 3 single beds. Instead, we were met with one single and one double. There was limited room to maneuver around for 3 people, and only one electrical outlet. Also, in order to access the room, we had to use 2 rather small elevators, and had to two sets of stairs (we were on the 5th floor) to scale, with luggage. While I truly enjoyed interacting with the staff and the excellent location of the property (very walkable to bars and restaurants), I would not recommend this hotel to anyone over 65, who is not traveling solo.

Overall, the stay was pretty average but solid. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly during check-in. The only real issue was there weren’t enough outlets in convenient spots to charge devices and access power easily. Other than that, it was a decent place to stay for a night or two. One thing I did like was the location. It was close to public transportation, which made getting around simple and convenient.

Localização excelente, café da manhã muito bom, equipe muito simpática e chuveiro do banheiro muito bom, apesar de ser apertado. Mas o quarto muito fraco. Sem climatização, sem frigobar e apertado. Teve um dia que esqueceram de deixar toalha de banho, e só foram bater no quarto para entregar depois das 23:00.

We didn’t even get to stay at the Royal Eagle. We arrive exhausted and carrying luggage and and are told that due to maintenance, we will be staying at a different hotel a nearly a 20 minute walk away. We were not given any notice of this beforehand. We were promised an upgraded room and breakfast, but neither was provided. The replacement room was smaller, and the issues continued throughout our stay: the air conditioning repeatedly failed, making it very uncomfortable to sleep; one of our room keys was taken, leaving us with only one; and at one point, our key stopped working entirely, locking us out. Staff responses were dismissive and no real solutions were offered. The new location was farther from public transport, causing extra costs and requiring us to walk in unfamiliar areas at night, which felt unsafe. Even basic amenities were lacking, such as proper outlets in the bathroom. Overall, this experience was misleading, stressful, and far below expectations. Would not recommend.

Helt greit hotel i denne prisklassen, når en bare skal ha en plass og overnatte.Har bodd her mange ganger, og kommer helt sikkert til å benytte dette hotellet også i fremtiden.

It was within walking distance to metro station.

Very handy to Paddington Station. Lobby is welcoming as are staff. I had a single room. Size was usual. I had to put my suitcase on the bed to open, but small rooms are standard. Breakfast was called 'continental' but had a lot of options and was well worth the 12.50. Be aware that there are steps to get into the lobby and my room was up another staircase. A young man helped me up with my suitcase, and that was great

The shower screen was broken and fell down. The bathroom was tiny and the smell was awful which made the whole room smell awful

The room was absolutely tiny, the bed was clearly designed for a gome or a child, all the fixtures were beat up, there were holes gouged in the wall. And the walls were paper thin. I could hear everything in the hotel all night. Would never stay again and would recommend anyone else stay far away. Staff was nice. It's not their fault the building and rooms are terrible.

Royal Eagle Hotel, Paddington – Review I rarely write reviews this blunt, but the state of the Royal Eagle Hotel really warrants it. The maintenance is, frankly, appalling. Bedroom windows don’t lock—despite some having direct access via a flat roof, which is a basic security failure. The showers are so small and awkward that even someone the size of a hobbit would struggle. TVs hang off the walls at angles that look like they’re about to give up entirely. Rooms are tired, scruffy, and crying out for a proper repaint and refurbishment. This is a hotel clearly being run on the cheap. Yes, the rates can look competitive—but you absolutely get what you pay for here, and in this case, it’s not much. To add to the frustration, they demand a £50 deposit for rooms that contain nothing remotely worth that amount. They also insist on photocopying photo ID, with no reassurance whatsoever about how that data is stored—something that should concern anyone mindful of privacy. It genuinely makes Fawlty Towers look like a luxury upgrade to modern London standards. The only positive: the staff seem to be doing their best in a situation that doesn’t deserve them. They’d be better off working somewhere that matches their effort. Verdict: Avoid

Sehr nettes Hotel in der Nähe des Paddington Station. Ich bin gerne in diesem Hotel zu Gast und komme gerne wieder.

Ótima estadia, excelente limpeza, serviço e café da manhã. Perto de uma estação de metrô maravilhosa, conseguíamos ir para todo o canto de Londres. Tem pubs típicos de Londres ali perto, restaurantes, mercadinhos até depois de 23h, farmácias… adoramos o bairro e hotel! Único ponto negativo é o box do chuveiro pequeno, mas já imaginávamos pelos comentários.

Muito bem localizado, perto da estação Padingtom e do Hyde Park.

Superbra frukostmeny, födans något för alla i familjen. Otroligt varmt rum om man hade med sovloft. Hårda sängar uppe men otroligt sköna nere. Personalen supertrevlig! Fanns inga USB-laddare kan vara bra att veta. Fanns kyl på rummet, stod inte innan så positivt överraskade. Tyvärr otroligt lyhört, pratade de i rummen bredvid hördes allt genom väggen. Även om någon gick på golvet knarrade brädorna till vårt rum. Trafiken hördes men störde oss inte. Vi är nöjda med tanke på priset. Var det som förväntat fast med bättre frukost och otroligt trevlig personal!
