The hotel is located on the north side of Banff town, right along the main road (the town basically has one main north–south street), with a bus stop directly in front, which makes it very convenient. The hotel has two small outdoor hot pools with a beautiful snowy mountain backdrop — a very nice experience. There is also the Good Folk restaurant on the ground floor; it has a great atmosphere, though a bit expensive. At check-in, the front desk provides free transit passes (valid for 3 days; you can request another one after it expires) and complimentary coffee grounds. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are available upon request. Our room did not have bathrobes. When we asked the front desk, we were told they were in short supply and none were available, so we had to use bath towels to go to the hot pool. There was no microwave in the room initially, although we noticed an unused microwave placed on the carpet between our room and the neighboring one. Out of curiosity, I asked the front desk, and they immediately arranged to move it into our room (it seems like it might actually be standard equipment, but you need to request it). The hotel does not provide slippers. The room itself was decent overall. However, the heater/air conditioning unit was quite noisy. It would occasionally turn on during the night for heating, which slightly affected our sleep. One small tip: do not leave food on the balcony — birds will take it. Parking was secure. Love the area the hotel is in, quieter and farther away from the train noise that rattles throughout the valley. Bed was comfy. Hot tub area looked great, we did not personaly use. Good value.

Amazing property in Banff, lovely hot tub and lounge area with a view of the mountains, comfortable and luxurious rooms, as well as easy and convenient parking!

nice enough hotel, balcony had a lovely view and everything was comfortable. all staff i interacted with were very kind and the hot pools were very nice as well. unfortunately though i often did not have clean linens or replacement linens after housekeeping. Also they have a “personalized” coffee situation where you order what you’d actually like every day and they leave it in the room for you, but i only had my order brought to the room once out of 6 days. overall nice but not necessarily worth the extra price tag just yet in my opinion.

I loved it

They have done a really nice job with the renovations here. The hot tub area offers lovely views…parking is plentiful, the staff are very pleasant and there are two outdoor patios to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon bites. Everything is still within a 15 minute walk of the main action on Banff Ave. the fresh tea and coffee selection for the rooms and pour over coffee apparatus is a nice touch too!

The best mountain view was actually from the hot tub area. Based on our experience, there is no need to book a mountain-view room, as the room view may only be partial or obstructed.

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff were friendly,the room was clean.And everything was comfortable . Easy access to all the tourist spots. Highly recommended.

Stayed at Otter Hotel and had a great experience. The views were beautiful and one of the highlights of the stay. The location was also very convenient, close to downtown Banff, making it easy to get around, explore shops, restaurants, and everything the town has to offer while still feeling relaxed and scenic.

Love it!

A good place to stay with hot tub and Mountain View. However, there are quite a few things made me disappointed with $500 per night in a superior room. when I get in the room, there was lots of tea spill over under the tray and didn’t being clean up. The heating machine was too loud and we can’t get into sleep very well. The other day in the morning, no hot water for shower. Body wash didn’t fill up as well.
