The location is great and the bed is very comfortable. I love this hotel but the housekeeper didn't clean the room throughly. I found out 1 opened water can left on the floor when I entered the room. The housekeeping manager emailed me to apologize. Hope they will clean the rooms throughly

In general, a good stay. The room — a bit small for the price paid — was clean and spacious. We loved the classy decor. But all in all, service is great as expected as a Fairmount accommodation.

The hotel is very good, but the room space is very small.

This beautifully restored old hotel wreaks with class! Exceptional staff from the desk clerk to the bartenders. Friendly, courteous and readily available to you. The dining that I did experience was outstanding as well. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Very impressed with my experience 😁

We called ahead of time with a request to get a room an hour early because our sick baby boy needed a nap. The lady on the phone was very rude and unhelpful. Overall we did not find the level of customer service to be at a ‘Fairmont Calibre’. The grounds around the hotel and lovely, and we made the most of our stay!

I stayed in a sea-view room on the second floor, so the view was not very wide. There was an air conditioner in the room, which was not quiet, you can turn it off.

I reserved and paid for a City View room with 2 double beds for myself, my daughter and my mother (who was celebrating her 70th birthday). When we arrived, we were given a very small room with frosted windows. I was curious as to why the windows were frosted, so I opened them to discover that we were facing the hotel’s loading dock and parking lot. Then the constant sound of trucks beeping and crates slamming began. I went to speak to the lady at the front desk, and was told that our room was in fact a City View room, and that there was nothing else available for the first night, but that we would be able to get a different room for the following two nights. Not ideal, but anything would be better than what we were originally given. The new room was also a City View room, but had 2 queen beds, and a sitting area, which was nice. However, the hotel is old, and so the bathrooms are very tight, and things like faucets and drains either don’t work well, or not at all. The room was also not the cleanest. Dusty and the carpets were dirty. My daughter’s socks were black after walking around on the floor for a couple of hours. I have been a very loyal client of Fairmont Hotels for many years, but am losing my love for the brand. I have found that Fairmont is riding on the coattails of their history and previous success, and not delivering service to maintain that success. I have found this to be the case at The Empress, and the Jasper Park Lodge. Would not stay here again.

We loved it , walking distance to many touristic attractions and the marina

Historic property with lovely views of the harbour. The garden surrounding the building is beautiful as well. Staff is excellent. We didn’t take any of our meals at the hotel opting instead to walk around the area and experience the local independently owned eateries.

Very friendly staff, the room was great

The Fairmont Empress is a delightful and luxurious experience. The staff is incredibly courteous, helpful, and customer satisfaction oriented.
