Extremely poor service and stay. We were given a smaller room than we had asked for (images do not match the actual state of the room), and the air conditioner is broken; we were provided with fans but we do not have proper ventilation in our room, causing the room to be very hot and stuffy, and after taking a shower the room becomes very damp. Television does not work, and the fans aren't very good. There are also insect stains on the bedding. Service is misleading, we were told that our check out was at noon however we were urged to leave as soon as 11am came by, asking to charge us for overstaying in the hotel. Our belongings were held at the lobby as well because of this, and the staff were reluctant to return our belongings. Extremely disappointed at the service and conditions of the hotel, will not recommend it to anyone.

Staff pleasant but long wait to check in. Room fine and comfortable but could benefit from an upgrade.

From the aggressive upselling during check in to the tattered and dingy rooms, a serviceable stay at a formerly grand property that is clearly not being maintained and determined to wring every cent from travelers.

Room 442: This a lovely hotel but in need of some TLC. Rooms feel basic despite the hotel seeming very grand. The quality of the towels was poor. I had no towelling bath mat. There was a bulb out in my room and finding a good place to plug the kettle in safely was a challenge

Room was good, check was difficult and sent tó wrong room which is frustrating, location good.

Quick check in - room good and quiet but smaller than some - wasn’t told about upgrade available until 1 hour after moving into room so waste of time.

Location was perfect, attached to the train station. Prebooked breakfast was reasonable, front desk staff was great. Downside was noise of revelery (outside) several times during the night.

Great staff, lovely breakfast as per normal.very well situated. At first glance I thought my room was very small and ‘pokey’ without aircon at the top of the fourth floor. However I slept well so no complaints.

Excellent value for money with superb amenities. The breakfast was fabulous, and the plunge pool was a real highlight. Customer service was outstanding throughout our stay, and the location couldn’t be more convenient. A truly enjoyable experience at the Royal Station Hotel.

Nice clean room and polite staff. However it might be helpful if we were made aware that the tea and coffee were inside the cupboard

The staff were lovely and a credit to the hotel, however the room was very tired and dirty. Marks down dressing table with tea and coffee stains, curtains were marked and stained. 4 poster bed was worn and header and footer were torn . It's a shame because the hotel itself is lovely

Hotel was quite dated, and the bed was very very uncomfortable to the point we had to ask for a mattress topper which took most of the day to come. The pool is not attached to the hotel and was cold with the changing room upstairs Nating you having to walk down quite a lot of stairs and threw a room and bare feet to get to the pool, it would’ve been nice if we had been warned to bring flip-flops. The breakfast was okay, but I would not return despite the location being very good by the train station and the cathedral.
