The hotel is located on the north side of Banff town, right along the main road (the town basically has one main north–south street), with a bus stop directly in front, which makes it very convenient. The hotel has two small outdoor hot pools with a beautiful snowy mountain backdrop — a very nice experience. There is also the Good Folk restaurant on the ground floor; it has a great atmosphere, though a bit expensive. At check-in, the front desk provides free transit passes (valid for 3 days; you can request another one after it expires) and complimentary coffee grounds. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are available upon request. Our room did not have bathrobes. When we asked the front desk, we were told they were in short supply and none were available, so we had to use bath towels to go to the hot pool. There was no microwave in the room initially, although we noticed an unused microwave placed on the carpet between our room and the neighboring one. Out of curiosity, I asked the front desk, and they immediately arranged to move it into our room (it seems like it might actually be standard equipment, but you need to request it). The hotel does not provide slippers. The room itself was decent overall. However, the heater/air conditioning unit was quite noisy. It would occasionally turn on during the night for heating, which slightly affected our sleep. One small tip: do not leave food on the balcony — birds will take it. Wow, my wife found a clip in Tik-Tok about this hotel….So glad we booked! The stay was absolutely fantastic. The room was superb, the hot tub and sauna, fabulous and the food in the restaurant, some of the best I’ve had in a long long time! Well done to all at the Otter!

We LOVED the hotel, everything was clean, the rooms were well designed. We particularly liked the tea and coffee in the rooms, it was great to have a kettle and real milk/cream although a spoon would have been nice. Great views from the hot tub. The hotel is a little out of town but they do offer a bus service.

Such a fabulous stay! Clean and quiet double-Queen bedroom with an additional sink in the room, apart from the washroom, gives it more functionality. The daily coffee/tea delivery is exceptional. Rooms include a waterfall shower, patio, and access to hot tub pools with a bathrobe for lounging on shared patio spaces. The restaurant downstairs is excellent in quality and service, while the front desk helps you get around the town by offering free bus vouchers. The bus stop is located right across the road and conveniently has a fuel station there as well for late-night snacks. If you're going to Banff, this is the place to stay for relaxation, fun, and a great jumping-off point for sightseeing, skiing, and enjoying the town.

Excellent hot tub and sauna with great views. Conveniently located on the main road but away from the crowds. Free underground parking! Ski lockers. New building with good mattresses. Restaurant was expensive but lots of dining options within walking distance.
