I had to cancel my room as it was in poor condition with stained / torn carpets and the bathroom was really substandard - I'd really expect better from the Hilton name. I had a book another room last minute after 9pm at the other Hilton down the road in York.

The location is excellent. The hotel is generally nice but if you look closely is a bit grubby in places -skirtings, behind the doors and daily room service. The shower was over a bath and it was very deep which made it difficult to get in and out. There was an aircon unit which was so noisy it couldn't be used. Breakfast was good and overall we had a good stay.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean but a little tired looking. No fridge.

Stay and room were fine, only gripe was we had a second room booked for guests who could not travel due to a death of their parent. Appreciate we didn't take cancellation cover but in this extreme circumstances thought some sort of refund was applicable, disappointed by this.

My room was in an annexe with no window, there was a skylight in the corner but the only way to open it and open and close the blind was to stand on a rickety chair. In the bathroom the grabrail by the bath was hanging off the wall so I would be very worried about grabbing it while getting in or out of the bath. Overall the furniture was not the best quality with wonky drawers not closing. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. Overall it was fine but u would probably choose a different hotel in York for my next work stay

This hotel should definitely not be classed as a 4⭐️ hotel. Was very very basic. We had to exchange rooms as our first room had damp on the coving and wallpaper coming away. Also spiders and cobwebs. We had to pay extra £20 for parking and our price of £169 did not even include breakfast. We had other friends also staying and 2 others couples had to swap rooms also. This hotel I would say is a basic 3⭐️ Avoid this hotel. I really wish we had read the reviews on the hotel before booking. DON’T BE FOOLED WITH THE WORD HILTON INCLUDED IN THE NAME.😡 Very disappointed

The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is in a great location. The hotel itself is in need of a revamp.

Firstly the double room which was alleged to be an upgrade was made up of two single beds being pushed together with two single quilts tucked into the side, this is not classed as a double bed. The Menu is the restaurant was very poor and very limited if you did not like pies you may struggle to get something to eat.

Clean rooms, helpful, friendly staff, great location

Basic, small - air conditioning was broken and it was 33 degrees outside, when I asked for a fan I was told I couldn’t have one, I asked for an alternative room and I was told to take all of my things out of my room the following morning and leave it all with the reception so that they remember to find me an alternative room - terrible do not stay here it’s an embarrassment to Hilton hotels and I’m an Honors member that has stayed in many around the world.

Brilliant hotel. Great room and friendly staff

Hotel is well located with good breakfast choice, nice bar and shuffleboard game in the bar area. Room was spacious but in need of some tlc. AC in part of the room did not work. Carpets were stained and flooring creaky. Bed was comfy and we appreciated that the kids didn't have to share beds, as they had a sofa bed and a single bed. We stayed on the hottest days of the year so far and requested an additional fan due to the broken AC. We were told they had a fan available and someone would bring it to our room within 15-20mins. Four chasing phone calls and 2hours later they still hadn't brought the fan despite saying every time that they would. Chased again at breakfast the next day and still did get the fan. Not a huge deal, but not great service.

If looking to park I would suggest getting there early as parking is limited, although Car park opposite. Room had air conditioning which was a god send.

Ok, was upgraded to deluxe room, which I’m glad didn’t pay extra for. No tv remote in room. Nothing really to write home about. They did put a fan in room as very hot weekend and AC didn’t work. Corridors were lined with dirty cup plates and glasses as we checked in and were there when we return around 10pm, glasses outside our room which we didn’t put there. Were all gone by morning but were there way to long. As I said all was ok, nothing special.

Highlights: helpful, friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Effective ac unit in room Low points: room (#55) was in desperate need of renovation. Only the ac unit in the bedroom worked .. the one in the lounge area (where our kids slept) didn't work. Gym was very small.
