The Yorkshire Hotel, BW Premier Collection

Harrogate is a nice place to visit. And Yorkshire is well located in front of nice greening and very handy to a lot of shops and restaurants. The breakfast is very nice with nice view. I would definitely want to come visit again

We had a good stay at the Yorkshire overall. The room was quite hot and the fan was not sufficient at times however the bed was comfortable and the amenities OK. The room is a little dated but nothing disturbing. The parking situation can be a little frustating but we had no major issues.

We loved this hotel staff were very helpful room beauitful hat really good breakfast excellent the only thing that let room down the eindows desperately needed cleaning but on the whole really good would come again

We've stopped at the The Yorkshire twice now, we stopped in a double room which was clean but rather small and basic. We decided to go for a deluxe double which was much bigger and views over the front of the hotel which was nice as before we had an internal view of other rooms. The iron was basic but also leaked water, the shower water flow was very slow that I joked it would be better to have a bucket of water thrown over you. We did notice to the rear of the hotel where you can sit and enjoy a drink on comfy wicker chairs that there was an unpleasant smell from either the bins or drains. The staff were polite and the breakfast was of good quality and plentiful.

The Yorkshire is immaculate. Beautiful building and tastefully decorated. The place was spotless. Bed was comfortable and bathroom looked new and modern. Breakfast was delicious with quality ingredients. Plenty of tea and coffee making supplies in the room. This place is excellent!

The Yorkshire is excellent, amenities bar, restaurant all excellent. The staff all very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect

Breakfast Room was a bonus. Excellent choice of food, etc and helpful, friendly staff. Irregularities between Website and reality - Website says first come, first served for car parking- I parked in an empty space but was asked to move because it was already allocated. No cones across the space. Also Website says parking fee of £1-50pm per hour charged after 11am on checking out. I asked for two extra hours but was told this was not available because I was checking out on a Saturday. No mention of this on the Website so I had to change my plans for Saturday Morning. Not ideal! Room was clean and tidy and had all required amenities. Shower had very little power and leaked onto the bathroom floor. The room was quite warm although a fan was provided. Sadly even when set at the maximum setting it did not make any difference to the room temperature, according to the App on my phone. I ate in the Pickled Sprout one evening. The food was tasty and hot, initially. However, because of the open doors it was like sitting in a wind tunnel, so my food was cold well before I finished eating.

The hotel, while good, lacks those little extras one would expect for the rate charged. No water in the room. Toiletry’s limited to be a one fits all shampoo , body wash and conditioner in a wall mounted dispenser.

Lovely hotel in a great location. All the staff I spoke to were great and my room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel was pretty average and the staff were unenthusiastic. I phoned in response to a message sent about disabled parking and as a side issue they told me my room was ready for early check-in. When I arrived they then told me the room was not ready but when I questioned this they said they had looked at the wrong room - looks like they are trained to resist early check-in. The food bill has an optional 12.5% service charge/upkeep charge. When examined closer there is 8% for staff and 4.5% for maintenance of the building. An absolute cheek as guest should not be paying extra charges for building maintenance. Moreover, this is pinching the staff tips as a lot of people will sign this off as a service charge without closer examination. You can have this removed and reinstate a service charge for tipping only.

Lovely stay. Very clean hotel, in the town centre. Staff were all very friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be back.

Room 113 unlucky for everyone! The hotel itself is nice. But the room we were given (room 113) was tiny no bigger than 11ft sq. it was tucked away next to the restaurant and I can only assume directly above the either the kitchen or the boiler room! The room was ridiculously hot with no air con and a fan that didn’t work properly! The bed wasn’t even the size of a standard double! But the heat was the real issue it was unbearable (it was only 18 degrees outside)! When we asked the staff at reception they said they didn’t have anymore fans and couldn’t move us. She did bring us a bucket of ice which was helpful for us to pour over ourselves/dip towers in to try and cool us down! To make things worse the water tap wouldn’t go cold and the shower I had at 3am was barely cold!

We had high hopes for staying in a 4 star hotel and paying 4 star prices. We were left incredibly disappointed. Whilst we understand it is an old building, during a heat wave, no air conditioning is not what I would expect for a 4 star hotel. The amenities were SO disappointing. At the very least I would have expected a coffee machine in the room but we were greeted with sachets of Nescafé. We enquired about a 1 hour late check out and were told it would be £20, which seemed disproportionate. Parking facilities were dire. There are allegedly 30 spaces but we couldn’t see them. The positives, the room was very clean and the bedding was lovely. Close to the centre of town. We were just left a little disappointed.
