TPE sits about 40 km west of central Taipei. It's primarily an international hub — most of Taiwan's point-to-point domestic flights (to islands like Kinmen and Penghu) operate from the smaller Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA) instead, so check which Taipei airport your flight actually uses.

Getting To and From the City
The Taoyuan Airport MRT runs express trains to Taipei Main Station in about 35–37 minutes, with departures roughly every 15 minutes. Buses, taxis and rideshare are also available. Note that the landside Skytrain between T1 and T2 is suspended from mid-2026 for construction linking to T3 — use the MRT or the 24-hour shuttle bus instead.
