Bauerfield International Airport (VLI) is Vanuatu's main gateway, located just outside Port Vila on the island of Efate. Compare airlines and set a Price Alert before you book.
Built in 1942 as a US Navy airbase during WWII, Bauerfield now serves as Vanuatu's principal international and domestic hub. It's about 6km from Port Vila's CBD, and its runway is long enough to take wide-body aircraft such as the Airbus A330.
International routes link Port Vila to Brisbane and Nadi (Fiji), plus connections to New Caledonia, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. Domestically, Luganville (Espiritu Santo) is the busiest route out of Bauerfield.
Bauerfield has a single terminal with eight check-in counters, handling both international and domestic passengers.
Taxis are readily available outside the terminal for the short trip into town; some hotels also offer airport transfers.
The terminal is compact, with a small number of shops, duty-free outlets and a café/lounge area.
Compare fares across the airlines flying into Port Vila and set a Price Alert to lock in a good deal for your Vanuatu trip.
