Situated around 2 kms from the Broome town centre, the airport operates regular flights to destinations such as Perth, Darwin, and Melbourne.

Looking for an escape from Broome that won’t break the bank? Heading to Perth is relatively affordable, with one-way fares starting from around AU$131. You can also head to Darwin for around AU$220-250 one-way. Prices are even lower if you choose to travel during off-peak seasons.
Broome Airport features a single, compact terminal that handles all flights that go in and out of Broome. It’s a small, easy-to-navigate airport with basic retail and cafes for a quick snack before you fly. Everything in the terminal is within a few minutes walk from each other, so you won’t need to factor in much travel time between the departure gates and security.
Taxis are the most popular way to get to and from Broome airport — and the journey is quick, taking just 5-10 minutes. Further, many hotels offer complimentary or paid shuttle services to make things even easier.
It’s important to note that there are currently no public transport services to and from the airport. But its close proximity to town means it's easy to grab a taxi or even walk if you’re up for it.
Port Hedland International Airport is roughly 600 km south of Broome and offers regular flights to Perth. Every now and then, you may find cheaper fares than Broome for Perth-bound travel. The cheapest months to fly from Broome are in March and November (as they fall within the shoulder seasons), when demand is lower. Flights are generally most expensive during peak seasons — between June and August, and during the December/New Year’s rush.
