Techo International Airport (KTI) is Cambodia's new main gateway, about 20 km (12 miles) south of Phnom Penh. Compare airlines flying into and out of KTI and set a Price Alert with Traveloka to catch the best fare before you book.
Overview
Techo International Airport opened on 9 September 2025, replacing the decades-old Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) as Cambodia's principal air gateway. Designed by architects Foster + Partners, its terminal is built around a single latticed roof supported by tree-shaped columns, referencing traditional Khmer basket-weaving and temple architecture. Spanning some 2,600 hectares — one of the largest airport footprints in the world — the first phase is designed for up to 15 million passengers a year, with capacity planned to grow toward 50 million by 2050 as later phases, including a second terminal due around 2030, come online.
Where KTI Connects
KTI opened with around 25 international airlines plus Cambodia's domestic carriers (Cambodia Airways, Sky Angkor Airlines, AirAsia Cambodia and others), linking Phnom Penh to destinations across Asia and beyond. As the airport is still ramping up, check with your airline for the latest route map before booking.
Airlines and Runway
The airport currently operates a single 4,000-metre runway — long enough for the largest widebody aircraft — with land reserved for two further runways as traffic grows.
Terminal
Phase one comprises a central terminal head house with two pier buildings for gates; the roof's skylights and extensive indoor planting bring in natural light and help keep the building cool, with much of the terminal's power drawn from an on-site solar farm.
Getting to and from Phnom Penh
The Airport Express Bus (AEB) runs between the terminal and central Phnom Penh roughly every 10 minutes from 5:30am to 11:30pm, stopping at AEON Mall Mean Chey, Bred Bank, the Royal University of Law and Economics and Canadia Garden; the full trip takes about 75 minutes and costs a little over US$0.35. By taxi or rideshare, the drive covers roughly 20–24 km and takes around 45 minutes outside peak traffic. There is no rail link to the airport.

As a brand-new international terminal, KTI offers Wi-Fi, dining and retail outlets, and full immigration/customs processing for international arrivals — expect facilities to keep expanding as later phases open.
