Saw other reviews and agreed the place is dated however, the beds were so comfortable, the room I had was great and the hotel is in the centre of Cardiff so it is perfect. There is clear parking instructions that is provided by the hotel. They do not have a private car park but an ncp one is a 2 minute walk and the hotel provide a discount code. Just read the instructions! Will be using the angel hotel again.

The staff were very friendly and lovely however, the room was a little run down in the bathroom. Window sill was very chipped and the tiles on the floor weren’t looking too great. Very nice hotel otherwise!

Very good all beds where comfy, however one room the window didn't open at all and it was very hot in there and yeah there was a fan, but not as good as fresh air.

It was a great one night stop on our quest to view the city. It was clean, in a great location and very friendly staff! The only issue was the noise from rooms (no sound proofing), but other than that - very much enjoyed and would recommend/ stay again!

The hotel was lovely but there were a few things that werent quite as nice/ made our stay a little difficult. We arrived amd they had booked us into a double instead of a family so they had to add a pull out bed to our room. I then asked at reception for an extra mug as only 2 available when 3 of us. And it took over 2 hours for a mug to cone and only because i called down to get it! The room was lovely but there were no plug sockets to charge phones etc so had to unplug things like lamps or tv to be able to charge our things. Also the lift was very old and small so was very cramped

Beautiful hotel in reception and downstairs. I don’t know what the other rooms are like but ours was a bit tired and in need of a refurbishment.
Was very warm in the room during our stay but overall lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Are some of the common areas and rooms a little dated? Yes. But the price and location can't be beat. The bed was extremely comfortable and I don't think I have ever experienced a nicer, more accommodating and engaged staff, EVER. And that was across the board- front desk manager, bar staff, maids, desk staff- all of them were absolutely wonderful and that was over a two week stay! Would absolutely visit the Angel again!

A Victorian property with lots of charm and large, clean rooms. However, it does have maintenance problems. The luft was out of order the two days l was there and the signs looked like they had been up for a while. Burned out light bulbs in the entry hall of my room on the 2nd floor. I still enjoyed my stay here enough to use thus hotel again.

I stayed there with my wife and our dog for 3 days during the easter holiday. The location of the hotel is very convenient, within walking distance from most of the tourist attractions, restaurants and pubs. The hotel is beautiful, but the facilities could be better maintained. Comfortable bed, good shower and generally clean.
For dog owners: their dog-friendly policy is reasonable, but we had to make an advance deposit of £100 for any damage caused by the dog, which was only returned a few hours after we checked out (our biggest problem with this is that we weren't told about it before we booked the hotel through Expedia). This was in addition to the pet fee (which was made clear before booking).
