Lovely stay. Staff were friendly and location is excellent

On arrival, we were greeted by the most wonderful staff. The hotel was marvellous and very clean throughout. The staircase leading to all floors was fabulous. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was great value and provided us with excellent choices. A great stay and super staff. Highly recommend 😊

Room was clean and had all what was needed the hotel is and old building in need of some loving attention to bring it back to its former glory but it was an overnight stay and was very adequate for our stay great price

This property is in an excellent position but needs some money spent on it to bring it back to what once was a beautiful building. Rooms are comfortable but need updating .

The hotel is an amazing old building and the staff are very very best we have ever had in many years of traveling the world! Truly helpful, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was fairly standard breakfast buffet but always hot and refilled regularly. The hotel is old, so if your a looking for a super modern hotel with clean lines, no character etc then this isn’t the hotel for you. Yes, it needs upgrading for sure but the beds were comfy, the rooms were clean despite stains etc on carpets that no one is going to get out! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay

Hotel was very run down. Stayed here 15 year's ago and I doubt it's had any updates since. The net curtains had holes and was hanging off at the top. Mold on ceiling in bathroom. Very old fashion. Rooms very hot with no AC. Definitely will look elsewhere on my return trips to Cardiff.

Great location, great staff, but looking very tired these days.

Rooms are of good size. Bathroom has mould rooms were not ventilated.

Room was large, everything you needed for an overnight stay. It is a little tired looking but it is an old building having said that. Close to centre of town, everything within walking distance.

Booked a standard double room Looks bigger in the picture's was a bit cramped. Clean and tidy although looking a bit tired now It's in an ideal position (right opposite the castle) 10 minutes walking to the main city centre

Good size bedroom. Clean room. Although some marks on the carpet. The bathroom dated. Staff only checked us in and out. Breakfast was ok. Coffee wasn’t the best taste.

The room was ok could do with an upgrade but I had good night sleep staff was great can't fault the breakfast it was delicious I never got to use the bar but it looked good.

Location central convenient to local amenities shops, bars, restaurants etc & attractions including Cardiff Castle ( opposite the hotel) & Cardiff Principality Stadium , RWCMD. I didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on that. There is a bar area. Food menu looks ok. I found all the staff friendly , courteous and helpful. I had a standard double room overlooking the main street & castle wall. Mattress was comfortable, not sagging. The room was clean, well laid out & spacious. Plenty of sockets. Decor was simple with clean lines. Black & white prints of drawings , I assume of the city, decorating the walls were a nice touch. The windows had secondary glazing to help minimise general noise from the street; hotel can provide earplugs if necessary Cardiff city central area is known to be a party place & is always busy at weekends. Clear instructions provided about sorting own rubbish in the room to comply with Welsh legislation for all businesses. The bathroom - bath/ shower- was also spacious & very clean. Toiletries provided. However , long term, the hotel could be more eco by not offering individual products. Minor quibble- lead for the kettle was too short for the nearest socket to the beverage area so I had to move it. Entrance to the hotel is clear & uncluttered. Automatic front door is helpful. A coffee machine is in the reception area £.Free water is also provided. All in all a positive experience. I would recommend The Angel Hotel.

Great unique hotel. Staff extremely helpful. Location amazing

The hotel was beautiful, although it could use a little "refresh", but you could see how it was a very desirable hotel in its grandeur. All of the staff was very kind and helpful, the bar and separate lounge area made perfect places for our group of 6 to meet before heading out in the morning or wind down in the evening. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and the location could not be beat, directly across the street from Cardiff Castle and walkable to tons of restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend and stay again!
