Staff were friendly and always available when needed. breakfast, there was plenty of choice and it was hot, could do with mugs instead of cups save going up and down a coffee machine with choices would have been better, like the one in the bar and reception.

Lots of dust on window sill radiator. No air-con. There was a large fan but not the same. Toilet seat was a very yellow colour needs a refurb. Could do with usb ports in their switches most places have them now. Ssying that the reception staff were very pleasant and accommodating

You get what you pay for HOWEVER £200 a night three things are key - the bed, felt like you were camped on the side of a mountain no excuse for poor mattresses that saw the end of their useful life 5 years ago, the shower - the shower was surprisingly powerful with the addition disappointingly of a shower curtain and no working extractor fan in the bathroom and a sign saying you should shower with the door closed to avoid a fire alarm going off even though it was only steam - a cool room - no air con two out of there’s windows could not be opened making an uncomfortable experience worse. Having to sleep with a window open means I return home with north of 50 mosquito bites on my back. The cleaner made the bed replaced the towels and left a three quarter empty glass of alcohol in the room assuming because she thought we might want to drink something a day old at a room temperature of 80F. Ok tired and massively overpriced. Location great hotel awful.

There was no A/C in the building, That was not specified while booking, the window was broken in the room and had an issue opening it. They didnot have extra fans. It was ok to stay for a night. But too expensive for a non A/C hotel

Great location for Cardiff Castle , shops, restaurants & bars. Staff were really friendly & helpful . Room was very shabby , paint peeling & grubby walls , shades too big for bedside lights in general very dilapidated, in need of redecoration & TLC. Wardrobe smelt of damp . Breakfast was good , included full english, continental, cereal, toast, fruit etc . Due to heat wave our room & the dining room were unbearably hot, fans were in place but not sufficient to make it comfortable. Iced water was available but air con would have made our stay so much more enjoyable !

Whilst the room was clean it does need updating.The mattress needs to be replaced and the room was exceptionally hot partly do to the hot weather but no windows to open and the fan was not adequate

The building is absolutely stunning but is in desperate need of refurbishment, The room was clean, Staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful Breakfast was very good all freshly cooked and good choice of buffet There is no air con in the hotel so extremely hot, the lift is very small and slow but only to be expected in a building that age. The Car Park is closed but there are 2 NCP car parks within walking distance Overall it was a lovely place just a bit dated

Staff were great, breakfast was tremendous, beds and pillows very comfy. Hotel generally scruffy, no aircon but fan provided. Bathroom all a bit old and partly broken, plumbing suspect. Needs some money spending on it but a great location and would prob stay there again.

Horrible experience at this hotel. The fire alarm went off twice in the night, for a false alarm. Woke everyone up from their sleep. Staff checked out the situation themselves rather than calling the firebrigade. Fire brigade was called by another guest. Received ZERO compensation for this traumatic event. Were not given the reasoning behind the false alarms, bad communication with guests. I was also injured at this hotel while leaving for the airport. There are stairs leading down to the street, and there is no ramp. No help from staff with suitcases up and down those steep stairs with luggage. I tripped while going down the stairs with my suitcase, and sprained my ankle. The airline did not allow me to board my flight due to the injury. No compensation from the hotel for this, either. Worst experience of my life at this place. I had to stay another couple of days in Cardiff, and got a room across the street at the Holiday Inn, was a much better experience. Avoid Angel Hotel at all costs.
