Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Indonesia, located on the border between Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency, East Java Province. The name "Tumpak Sewu" comes from Javanese, meaning "a thousand waterfalls," referring to the widespread flow of water that resembles a giant curtain, creating a magnificent and enchanting panorama.
This waterfall has a height of approximately 120 meters and originates from the Glidik River, which comes from Mount Semeru, the highest mountain on the island of Java. The main uniqueness of Tumpak Sewu is its horseshoe shape, making it look like a tropical version of Niagara in miniature. This waterfall is not only attractive from above (panoramic view), but also from below, where visitors can descend via a steep path to directly experience the roar of the water and the refreshing cool mist.
