The Hotel Dufferin is a quirky old building with lots of interesting features. The staff were very helpful. The location is fabulous! The terrace boardwalk is right outside the front door and you are in the heart of the old walled city.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Terrasse Dufferin! The price was very affordable, the staff were very kind and welcoming, the location was perfect, and the complimentary snacks were delicious! They were even so sweet to leave us flowers and a card celebrating our anniversary! We would definitely highly recommend!

We were nervous about access and parking, knowing the hotel's location was right near the Chateau. But it was super easy. Staff were wonderful. Free snacks a plenty, which our kids loved. We made use of the common room, with toaster, microwave, ice maker, and water dispenser. They were thoughtful of us as a family, putting us on the main floor.
The building is old and has little quirks, but those are so far outweighed by the location and attention to detail.

I really want to give a good review, however, there are things that must be noted and improve by management.
The location is just perfect - it’s within walking distance to all the main tourist sites in Old Quebec. The room is also quiet - we can’t hear other guests or cars passing by.
Checking in outside of regular hours was smooth and professionally done. The front desk staff were courteous, helpful and professional.
The hotel also prepared complimentary treats & cookie/candy bowls which were enjoyed by kids!
Now, here’s the issue - our room (#2) is very old - the furniture and the entire room are not well maintained and not kept clean. The air conditioning unit (is working) but is badly in need of cleaning - the dust are thick and crusting. The carpet is also stained & feels mushy - I am so glad we brought our own slippers (I won’t walk around bare foot on that carpet).
Now - let’s talk about the towels & sheets provided. The towels are old and visibly STAINED. The duvet & sheets also have stains. I understand that this is a 2-star hotel but guests deserve visibly clean sheets and towels (I can’t bear to see other guests stains and use these towels myself!) We stayed for 4 nights and we have to use our own t-shirts as towels! I suggest the hotel use a professional towel/sheet service.
The 9+ rating of this hotel in Expedia is misleading - especially on the “Cleanliness” category. It might be true for their other rooms (perhaps) but certainly NOT in room #2.

The hotel is in a convenient area, just a few feet from Château Frontnac, with easy access to everything in Quebec city. There is limited parking for a fee, the room had coffee, snacks and accessto a shared dinning area and a small backyard. It was worth the price.

The location was extremely good. On the terrace, it is extremely desirable.
For me the accomodations were fine; clean and enough space and the staff was very personable, helpful, in both French and English.
The only negative I ran into was the hot and cold water in the shower; the temperature would unexpectedly go hot or cold and then on its own change back. So be careful in taking a shower.
The snacks were a very nice personal touch. The on duty staff was great and everything was done as promised quickly. They were a real plus to the trip!

Washroom: no exhaust fan, plastic tape to repair holes in bathtub, has to flush toilet three times to fully discharge, no hook for clothes, towels were old, threadbare and discoloured grey not white.
Room: AC unit did not sufficiently cool room. AC unit opening was covered with tape. Closet was full of dust. Wall paper was detaching at seams. TV was very small and place in an upper corner which made it difficult to watch when lying in bed. Furniture was old and lounge chair upholstery was stained. The hotel is run down and is in serious need of updating. The service staff weee good.

The location is perfect. The building has incredible heritage charm. The room decor eg. carpets, wallpaper, shower, etc is tired. The rooms need a full refresh. AC is portable but plastic coil tube connection to the window is so old it crumbles as you try to attach it. No screens in door to balcony either. I do not recommend in hot summer months unless AC is addressed. Fine in cooler months.

A cute, little hotel in the heart of Quebec City. Nice view of the river. Although the hotel itself is little bit on an older side, it is very personal, clean and cozy. The ladies in the reception are very lovely and helpful. Easy parking next to the hotel. However, if a guest is a disabled person, it’s great to call ahead since there is no elevator. We appreciated the walking distance to main tourist attractions.

You're in the middle of Old Quebec City. Great location. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and historic sites. We liked the old vintage vibe of the hotel as well as the little courtyard.
