Shocking room clean? Must be a joke dust and dirt and grime everywhere it’s cheap for a reason but at least have standards. Lights never worked in bathroom the floor was sticky single glazed windows heard everything. Tv on stand but view blocked by wall cabinet. Half bottle vodka left in cupboard from who ever so proves not been cleaned. I had the gas meter in my bathroom normal tape to try go around the door looking dirty, old bath mat next to the sink toilet close to the wall so can’t sit on it properly. If you want cheap as chips go for it but expect not clean or anything you’d expect from a hotel this is a 1 star hotel.

Didn't have breakfast. The room was awful with EXTREMELY dirty carpets- I wouldn't put my bare feet on them. The room was really basic and needed a complete overhaul. The bathroom was cold and had a wobbly toilet seat, a sloping glass shelf you couldn't use and hadnt been refurbished in years. You have to pay for parking, although this wasn't mentioned when I booked. The only redeeming feature was that the reception staff were very helpful.

We were moved to a different hotel (Rivers Hotel)with 1 days notice, then upon arrival we were told that the front door was to be locked over night from 12pm to 6 am. This ment 2 of the 3 fire exits were not usable and on top of that on 2 mornings I had to call to get someone to unlock the door (both times between 7.30 and 8.00 AM) for the first 2 days the restaurant was not open for breakfast. The next issue was the Manager who had a very thick accent and did nothing but moan about his workload and made it quite obvious he didn't appreciate being woken up to let people in or out the other person working the front desk was the polar opposite. Next on a 4 night stay i would have expected the rooms to be made up at least every other day and coffee/tea replenished but this was not the case. The rooms were clean as was the rest of the hotel, but all the floors were noisey the automatic lights didn't always work and kept clicking, also the lift was out of order the whole stay and as my partner has mobility issues this did not help being on the second floor. the final thing was the restuarant staf were throwing stale bread off of the decking area for the birds on the river but did not take into account the fact that in the evening the rats were coming to pick up the scraps that were left. As this hotel is owned by the same people as the Hotel express it will make me very wary about booking either in the future.

Dirty and dangerous, mould everywhere. Faulty electrics. Turned hairdryer on, sparks then lost all power on the floor. Sleeping on concrete is more comfortable than the beds. Do not stay here.

Stayed for 2 nights (unable to change hotel due to the city been busy). Hotel dirty from front door to rooms carpets poor interior. The room was dirty and unkempt. Bathroom damp and smelly, mould everywhere. Shower hanging off the wall, poor water pressure and too hot as unable to control the heat. No where to hang clothes, cupboard space which was also dirty. No water provided, cups in room for tea also dirty. It’s a shame as it’s a great location. Would NOT recommend this hotel.

The staff were all friendly and helpful and there are no complaints there! The surrounding area wasn’t the best and there was nowhere close to go for food etc. The hotel is being redecorated which is great, however the room we stayed was either still in the process or had just been finished as there were broken and stained ceiling tiles, the shower and bathroom floor were not clean and paint spills were very noticeable. The layout made it seem like everything was just shoved in and the radiator covered by a desk. We kept seeing what appeared to be blue flashing lights similar to emergency vehicles throughout the night which alongside the local area didn’t help us in feeling safe. We did discover that the blue lights were security lights. The access to the disabled parking space was blocked by a skip and work vans were taking up space making parking difficult The cost was low budget but you can still have high standards

Staff were not very welcoming, almost dismissive but helpful in the end so that was good. Rooms are not as picturesque as shown or very clean but bedding was absolutely fine. Lacked towels, no bath mat for leaking shower tray but the water was hot! Plenty of toiletries etc. Could make a tea or coffee but no water, nothing in vending machine and nowhere around to buy anything so go prepared! You are in the middle of a heavy traffic area and no facilities. Beds / pillows are not comfortable unless you like it beyond firm and with the surrounding noise / from the roads etc. just forget getting any sleep. It’s fine for a pit stop but nothing more.
