The room was really clean, we had trouble with the heating which was sorted. Breakfast there was plenty of choice and more then one station to get the breakfast items from so you didn't que for long.

Stayed in a superior twin room on the 5th floor, which was clean and comfortable, with a walk-in shower (important because I have mobility issues). It was on the small side but not cramped. The decor seemed to be fairly new and in good shape, of a dark gray neutral sort. Staff on check-in were friendly, quick and helpful. It's a massive hotel that takes huge tour groups, so there were several hordes clumped together in the lobby and in the street area outside; there is also no visible place to sit and relax in the lobby, which is designed to get a lot of people through check-in quickly. I was so glad to find there was express checkout! There are several restaurants in the hotel which I didn't try, and lots of restaurants in the immediate area. Very close to everything in Bloomsbury. There was street noise at night but nothing extreme.

Room looked like it hadn’t been refreshed in 20+ years, the TV was hanging off the wall and the bath was all cracked and showing the unfinished material underneath, people where up and down the hallway all night shouting and took 20+ minutes to check in. could have been so much better. tried to treat my girlfriend to a nice weekend in london but ended up being dissapointing for both of us and i feel to blame for it.

Easily the worst, run down dirty kip of a hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was terrible, ate out both mornings instead. Room looks like something out of the horror movie Hostel. I would highly recommend nobody stays here: This was booked for me by work. The place hasn’t been done up in a long time, I’ve seen prisons with more charm. AVOID/AVOID/AVOID. If I could give it minus stars I would. Hotels.com should take it off their website.

Poor condition of the room I booked family room. The extra bed were just added in making no space for walking. It was not a family room. Quality was poor. Didnt like at all. Will never book here again.

The area around the hotel is great. Highly recommend the Russell Square area. The hotel is older though and our room was quite small, and without a refrigerator (which we should have checked beforehand). Our only big issue was the shower. Although there is a curtain, it is made of fabric rather than plastic, so water goes right through it. Even though we tried to shower with the shower head facing the wall, water always leaked all over the floor.

There was a strong air freshner smell on our floor. I have allergies to strong smells. I asked them to turn it down and when they did there was a strong musty smell. The window in the room did not open very far and it was hot with no air flow. We had to ask for a fan.
