Location says it all. The Queen of The South Resort perched on a cliff overlooking Parangtritis Beach is one of the best places to stay on the south coast of Java. The rhythmic sounds of the waves breaking on the shores of the beach, glorious sunsets and the absolutely gracious people who work and live in this community provides an opportunity for one to shed the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whilst mother nature has not been kind to the Queen of The South, with the toll of its ocean-front location doing its best to tarnish what man has built, the bungalows are still comfortable and those with a sea view are provided with an enchantingly spectacular panorama looking over the beach, sea and adjacent villages. If anything, the property could do with a little more tender loving care and a refurbishment program to bring this 30 something old property into a well-curated 2020's standard of accommodation (e.g, smart televisions and room refrigerators). Whilst meals, apart from breakfast, are excellent value for money the re-equipping of the facilities to ensure that hot food remains hot for the duration of the breakfast service would also be beneficial. But, all things considered, this represents one of my best holiday experiences and, to be honest, my time at the Queen of The South Resort was far better than many of the vacations that I have had in Bali. All we need to have is a direct airline service from Australia to Yogyakarta 's wonderful international airport. I mean, who would want to go to Bali when one now has Yogyakarta as a fantastic holiday destination. Citilink and Air Asia, please take note.
