Mayflower Hotel

We loved staying here. The hotel staff and property were wonderful. The rooms were clean and of a good size. The staff were very helpful with any questions or needs. The property was well kept with a bar and lobby area to relax in after a day of exploring. The breakfast had a great selection to choose from and was an excellent start to the day. The location was close to main bus station for easy access to explore. There were many areas close to dine and shop. Only disappointment was that the pool was being worked on so we were unable to use. Very safe area to stay and we would stay here again.

Great hotel, excellent value for money - breakfast was amazing.

The hotel was clean and the staff were polite and helpful. When I arrived my room had twin beds, but they were able to change them to a double for an additional €10, which I appreciated. However, there were building works taking place during my stay that I was not informed about before booking. The noise started between 6–7 AM each morning and the walls were vibrating, which meant I was woken up early every day and didn’t have a very restful sleep. The construction also continued throughout the day. I understand it may be the off-season, but I would have appreciated being informed beforehand as I would have chosen a different hotel. Additionally, the rooftop pool was closed on one of the days, which happened to be the sunniest day of my stay, which also wasn’t advertised until I went up to the rooftop. The gym was quite dark as it is located in the basement which made it feel a bit off-putting. Overall the hotel was okay and the staff were friendly, but the lack of notice about the construction and facilities did affect the experience.

Linens: The towels provided were the lowest quality I have encountered across hundreds of hotels in all price ranges. They were undersized (providing minimal coverage) and had a noticeable unpleasant odor. Appliances: The in-room refrigerator was broken. Despite reporting this to staff, who promised to contact maintenance, the issue was never addressed. After 48 hours without a follow-up, we stopped requesting assistance. Facilities & Service Staff: The team was generally friendly, though the lack of follow-through on maintenance requests suggests a breakdown in internal communication. Breakfast: The breakfast was excellent and stood out as a highlight of the stay. Pool & Parking: While the pool was open, it was unheated. On-site parking is available but difficult to navigate and not ideally designed. Noise & Location As we visited during the off-season, there was active construction on the premises. A very nice reasonably priced hotel. Breakfast was really good and the overall layout works very well. Although the view looked out over other buildings we had very good sea views in the gaps. We will certainly stay there again.

Clean rooms well appointed. Nice hotel situated close to amenities. Ample free parking close by. Good choice of fresh breakfast buffet. There was building work on hotel opposite which woke us at 7 each morning but that was no fault of the Mayflower. Pool closed as we went in winter, but it looks nice. Great staff, all very helpful and pleasant!

Excellent staff who were very helpful. Lovely room and facilities. The hotel is really good value and with good location. Good transport link to get anywhere. Let down on the day before leaving only by the cleaning of the room which was not done despite calling reception to say that we'd accidently broken a glass and the floor needed cleaning for safety reasons. We cleaned as best as we could but very wary of stepping on tiny glass shards.

The room was always clean.

The hotel itself was fine, good value and everything as advertised BUT i would not stay there again . The reason being is that there’s so much building work going on around the hotel with constant drilling and 2 super large cranes hovering over the top of the hotel . We did complain to reception but they just shrugged their shoulders and said it’s not in our hotel and we cando nothing. You booked through Expedia, they should have told you at the time of booking, which they did not.

This was my 5th stay and its still as great as it was on my 1st visit.

Great hotel with fantastic Staff, amazing price, Gym, pool, restaurant, pub, SPA treatments. Already booked my next trip and stay here agin.

My 3rd stay here, the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Accommodation modern and clean. Roof top sun terrace perfect. The location is ideal for public transport and restaurants. Would recommend

disappointing hotel! Booked a room with a sun terrace at a much higher price than a standard room. However due to the location of the room the Terrace never gets the sun! The hotel advises that the rooms are soundproofed....they are definitely not! The hotel advises that the rooftop pool has a bar, they fail to advise it is closed and the only bar is on the ground floor and seats 18 people. The sheets do not fit the bed! The towels start off as good quality and my the end of your stay are small, threadbare with holes! The hotel appears to enrolled into a timeshare / ownership program as tourists are constantly being shown around the hotel and fed lies that are very clearly heard...in fact I heard several times around the pool that some of the hotel guests were just general public and talked about in a degrading manner, but the hotel was happy to accept our money Would not recommend this hotel!

Nice modern hotel close to plenty of shops and restaurants. Breakfast had a good variety of options. The coffee at breakfast was horrible so I recommend bringing your own satchels. Only other concern was the duvet nearly covered the bed so we asked for an additional one so at least we were covered! We were there mid October and the pool bar was closed but you could still relax by the pool. Overall, great value hotel for such a beautiful area.
