Loved my stay!

There was absolutely nothing we found fault with. It was an amazing stay and experience!

Very good hotel

We had a great stay at Renaissance. We got the all inclusive package and the food and drinks were amazing! The cocktails were strong and tasted wonderful! The menu at the restaurants had so many options. The buffet style breakfast was also great We also loved the flamingo island but didn’t like that you can’t really swim in the water. I would say it definitely did NOT feel like a resort given the location but it was nice nonetheless. If you are looking for a more resort feel then this hotel might not be for you and a little too pricey We will definitely stay here again.

Definitely was 1000/10. The staff was great and the area was great.

We loved the water taxi to Flamingo Island and the shopping/ restaurant areas within a short walk.

Too many hidden fees

Please do not book the ocean suites with a “garden view” on the children’s side of the hotel. It is a completely different location than the actual renaissance. I took my best friends on this trip with our children and I payed over $5k for 2 suites and you would think our rooms would atleast be decent. First off the front desk staff needs more training. A lot of the staff were very unwelcoming and not friendly at all. They also don’t answer the phones after 11pm. Every time we stepped outside for dinner to get transportation there was no one to be found, and when we would ask for a bell man, the front desk would have an attitude. Housekeeping staff were the friendliest and the most accommodating than anyone else that worked there. They brought us joy. Our room had a balcony with the view of a massive parking lot and 2 huge garbage bins. All you would hear at night and early morning was garbage trucks, laundry trucks unloading the sound of banging, car alarms and people yelling. We had to keep our blinds shut the entire time. Also, pool on the kids side was absolutely disgusting and dirty. Only reason why I’m not leaving a 1 star is because the manager Deidre turned everything around for us the day before we left. She was calming, listened and was very empathetic. She worked hard and found better rooms for all of us with a partial ocean view. The main hotel was beautiful but it is not the same location. Don’t book the garden view room. As it is not a “Garden view”.

It was nice. Didn’t care for the room as it was next to an alley with dumpsters. Especially after paying $550 a night. Didn’t realize there was also a resort fee of $70 a night on top of that. Nice hotel though…

Walk to private island shuttle was way to far

This place was excellent! highly recommend. I will be back again.

The property had few restaurants to dine at but the boat taxi to the private island was my favourite.
