One of the lifts was down for maintenance during our stay which made getting up to our room a little inconvenient. The pool was also closed which was something we were looking forward to using. The staff did offer to shuttle us somewhere else to use their pool but we didn’t want the hassle to opted not to. Overall it’s a great clean hotel with a nice breakfast offering and friendly staff. Fantastic location right next to Calton Hill and a short walk to the Waverly station.

3 night stay with breakfast. Lots of plus points but also some negatives. Positives were: Staff were all excellent. All really friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. Right in the centre, so walking distance to the main sights. Breakfast was fabulous. The food was ordered from a menu and cooked to order. We never had other meals there but we're sure they would have been just as nice. The bar area was chilled out and the staff really looked after everyone in there. Negatives were: Spa for a couple of reasons. 1. We went there to book for following day but no one on spa reception. Called on the telephone several times before someone answered. No availability for day we wanted but some for following day. Booked treatments. 2. Got a call on day of treatments to be told that our appointment was cancelled because staff member didn't arrive for work. Given alternative appointment, however, it was the day we were leaving the hotel to go home. We had to play 'lift roulette' to get up to and get down from 10th floor. Only 1 lift in service the entirety of our stay and that seemed to have a mind of its own. Quilt in room seemed to be a double quilt in a super king size cover. Quite uncomfortable.

Disappointing for the cost. On the telephone prior to arrival, the staff were helpful but upon arrival, nothing was explained about the facilities and my room wasn’t ready in time. Attempting to checkout was a nightmare and took some time. Housekeeping staff were wonderful and room was clean. One lift was out of action which meant multiple stops on each use. Hairdryer in room did not work and when I mentioned this at the reception, the chap asked if I was using it properly?! Condescending. Pool area was untidy, with half eaten food left on the floor and loungers. Plus notes: Bathroom was magnificent. Bed was comfortable. Hotel was in a great central location.

"SPA" was not a spa, a pool like a Holiday Inn and a phone booth size steam. Floors were covered in water. I slipped down the stair and spoke to reception and they really did not care, no security measures in elevators or front doors, front desk not helping boarding on rude. Hallways were had the look of a warehouse, Very disappointed

Great location. The stay was overall good. The main issue was the bathroom which did not have a fan or window so very humid and there was mold on wall and on grout so unpleasant to be in that room.

A gorgeous hotel, super close to Waverley station and to all the sights! The staff were great and super friendly, we were kindly upgraded to a city view room, and the check in service was smooth. We were a little early to check in however, we were advised that it would only be about a 30min wait so we could wait in the bar area and have a complimentary drink which was a nice touch. The whole hotel was great, and I would definitely stay again :)
