Excellent location and extremely comfortable hotel. The entire staff was amazingly helpful and accommodating. The only issue was that one of the two elevators was out of service the entire stay. I would definitely go back.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Fast Check in. I had checked in before arrivaled. This trip was for my birthday. We had 2 free drinks at the bar of hotel and a surprise birthday dessert in the room. Bedroom had a good size and had a cosy bed. We had a good sleep. Has smart TV supported mirroring for my phone to watching video show on TV. Air conditioning was good .Breakfast is nice. It was buffet breakfast . The buffet food maybe not many foods choice. But they also had menu options including for breakfast . We were really enjoyed it. The price was £17.50 ( buffet and menu options)if you booking the breakfast . Walk in will be £19. It a good price for a breakfast at hotel. Good food is not cheap in there area of Edinburgh . We also really enjoyed the swim pool, sauna and steam room. Very relaxing before we going out. Location was good. Easy to walking to anywhere in 5-30 minutes. For shopping, restaurant and Sightseeing locations. Is a wonderful hotel. Only 1 happened made me disappointed . I found Lipstick print on the cup when I tried to made a cup of coffee. I hope they will improve the room keeping of the future .Anyway ,I like this hotel. We will visit again of the future.

Amazing location. Incredible staff. I've stayed there before and even with 2 elevators, things can be slow given the number of guests and staff that use it. Now there is just 1 elevator so expect long delays or enjoy using the stairs for exercise. Otherwise I look forward to staying there again when I visit in August

Huge plus is the location in between Holyrood and Princes St / Royal Mile. And easy access to buses to get around. Staff helpful. Didn’t use the hotel bar or restaurant but they looked good. Only real negative was we got unlucky and one of the two lifts was being repaired and out of service. Pool was good by hotel standards. Has a gym but did not use it. Did not have breakfast included in my rate so simply found something nearby. Seemed expensive overall but then everything in the city centre is. No bargains to be had (in June).

Unbeatable location for a first time Edinburgh tourist. Close to everything we did for 3 days. Attentive & helpful desk staff. Lovely dining room & lounge. We had one glitch which the front desk handled perfectly. We took advantage of the pool & sauna. Rooms were contemporary but seemed a bit “tired”. I applaud they are doing an elevator upgrade. Whilst inconvenient for us being down 50% elevator capacity, it will be appreciated by future guests.

The staff went above and beyond!!! The room was very clean. We ordered a burger one night, another night the charcuterie board..EXCELLENT!!! Both recommended by the staff. Then our bartender made us fabulous drinks to include a stamped 1816 cube for my whiskey. Beautiful craftsmanship in his drinks. We have stayed in 6 hotels in Scotland, this was by far the best 4 day stay thus far!!! Thank you Apex staff for everything!!! Ohhh and Location, just outside is multiple bus routes and the train terminal is a block away.

The property can be challenging, we stayed in a spa 1 bedroom which was on the 8th floor except the hotel elevator doesn’t go to this set of rooms, you have to to get off on 8 and then go up another 2 flights of stairs which was a lot with luggage. We went through the elevator, 2 flights of stairs and, 5 sets of doors before we got to the room, so challenging for us. The room itself was fine but the wall was crumbling by the window and the view was a huge machine. So not ideal. The staff were lovely they helped with the bags. Not much going on at this hotel. It is next to a cemetery, that was one window view we did get. Spooky. You are very close to Carlton Hill so we did do sundown. Its a 1 minute walk. This location was good, you’re a bridge away from the old town.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room and bathroom were very clean and the amenities were excellent including tissues and face washers. There was no noise heard from other guests so sound proofing is excellent Breakfast was a good range of foodstuffs. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. The hotel was a great location for accessing transport on buses to the airport, trains from Waverley Station, and the main bus station for Rabbies tours. Plus Hop on Hop off buses stopped across the street. This is a very popular hotel for large groups so the foyer can get congested sometimes but the hotel caters well for groups and the restaurant area has sections, so one can easily find a quiet spot to eat. I would stay here again.

We stayed four days here. The good: the staff is very friendly, it's very convenient to the train station, the big tour bus stop, the airport bus stop, and both Old Town and New Town. The bad, there is only one working lift and it's very slow. The bed was lumpy, the furniture was worn, the shower door does not seal properly (water runs all over the floor.

We stayed four days here. The good: the staff is very friendly, it's very convenient to the train station, the big tour bus stop, the airport bus stop, and both Old Town and New Town. The bad, there is only one working lift and it's very slow. The bed was lumpy, the furniture was worn, the shower door does not seal properly (water runs all over the floor.
