North West Castle Hotel

Came here for a couple of nights away, staff were amazing and so friendly helped with any questions we needed answered, we booked a loch view room the room was more than we imagined it was beautiful, thank you for making our stay amazing we will definitely be back☺️

They arranged very spacious rooms for us, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very nice and the staffs are very friendly. We had a wonderful time!

Everything was lovely and comfortable. The staff was so helpful and caring. We enjoyed our short visit.

Just home from an overnight stay & have to say loved it. The reception staff were lovely. We arrived a wee bit early but very much welcomed. Went for a swim which was great. Booked a table for dinner & oh wow it was amazing as was the service from the staff. Not really a view but for 1 night wasn't too bothered the room was clean & had everything we needed. The hotel I had read comments saying it was dated in need of updating & we saw the pictures before we booked & this did not put us off infact I wouldn't hesitate to book again for a longer stay. Thank you so much would definitely be back

Refurbished rooms to a high standard. The main hotel is somewhat tired but the rooms are clean and modern. The pool area is also in need of a make over but the hotel have invested wisely. Great location, be advised there is a car park towards the rear of the property in addition to front.

Lovely setting and kind staff

We were in a lovely, refurbished room over looking Loch Ryan. Really nice place to stay.

The room was lovely . The bathroom also very large and clean . The shower was why it didn’t get four stars . It’s the worse shower . Tiny shower head and no pressure . I struggled to get shampoo out of my hair . Which was a shame as everything else was perfect .

Property was clean but a bit dated . Understand some rooms have been upgraded but not ours but bed was comfortable and plenty hot water . Breakfast was good even though they were extremely busy when we had it

We loved our stay. Our room looked recently refurbished and it was a great bonus to have a separate 'half' of our large room for our teenage sons. The pool etc were a great addition, we enjoyed the games room and the wood panelled bar. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the waiting staff friendly and polite. We found the hotel to be great value for money (we had a family room with four single beds, booked as on a B&B basis) Hotel is very convenient for town and the ferry port. (If eating in town, Landos has great food but seems really badly organised with long waiting times, and how can a restaurant serving pizza run out of dough?!). The hotel is a bit tired in places (paint flaking above lighting on thd stairwell and threadbare carpet in places) but that added to its charm. I'd not hesitate to come again.

The hotel room was spacious and clean with no excess flourishes such as multiple cushions that cover the bed and end up taking floor space. Breakfast, included in the price, was excellent, I especially enjoyed the haggis in my Scottish breakfast. I stayed for one night and used the bar once, the staff were efficient and the options good. My room faced south and had no air conditioning, and in this hot summer that proved a problem as the room temp was in excess of 30C, making the room extremely uncomfortable. The fan I borrowed from reception did nothing but blow hot air around. To be comfortable I had to sit in the room with a wet towel around me and sleep on top of the bed. There were no electric sockets beside the bed and few in the room, so charging phones etc. meant juggling with plugs. I ate dinner in the restaurant and ordered a scottish beef burger, but since they would not do it the way I liked it (medium rare) due to their concerns over my well being, I ordered the pork loin instead, which came out under-cooked and had to be sent back for further few minutes under the grill. I was not warned that the plate was red hot. So I thought it ironic that the chef will not serve beef unless it is burnt, but happy to serve raw pork.

Visited in the very hot weather. The room was very hot with no fan provided.

Excellent location

Lovely comfortable hotel, ideal for ferry access. Enjoyed supper and breakfast here. Lots of electric car chargers (which were simple to use - not always the case) at the hotel and surrounding area. 10/10
