Rajabasa Train
Rajabasa Railway is a rail-based mass transportation services presented by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) with economy class AC, especially for the Palembang-Bandar Lampung travel route. The journey by Rajabasa Railway uses the main corridor of Palembang Kertapati Station and Tanjung Karang Station Bandar Lampung. The cross-city travel across this province has a distance of 389 kilometers. The Rajabasa Railway uses a towing locomotive that has an operating speed of between 55 and 90 km per hour. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has handed over Rajabasa Railway management to Regional Division 3 Palembang and Regional Division 4 Tanjung Karang. The train with a maximum capacity of 636 passengers provides one trip every day, both for departure and arrival. For travelling from Palembang, Rajabasa Railway will depart from Tanjung Karang Station at 08.30. The duration of the journey is approximately 10 hours, so passengers will arrive at Kertapati Station by 7:30 pm. Conversely, for the journey from the city of Tanjung Karang, the train will depart at 08.30 and will arrive at Tanjung Karang Station at 18:15, after the journey which takes about 9 hours 45 minutes. Regarding this service, Rajabasa Railway stops at approximately ten stations. The main stations are Rejosari Station, Tegineneng Station, Bekri Station, Sulusuban Station, Kotabumi Station, Negararatu Station, Tulungbuyut Station, Blambanganumpu Station, Waytuba Station, Martapura Station, Baturaja Station, Peninjawan Station, Prabumulis Station and Lembak Station.
The Rajabasa Railway is a PSO Economy class train. That is, this train gets government subsidies. Ticket prices are very low, i.e. Rp32.000 per passenger and this applies flat or the same. The name’s origin
Rajabasa is actually the name of a volcanic, cone-shaped mountain isolated in the Sunda Strait, precisely on the southeast side of the island of Sumatra. This mountain is included in the area of South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province and has a crater peak of about 500x700 meters wide.
