Information About the Sribilah Utama Train

For the Medan-Rantau Prapat route, PT Kereta Api Indonesia owns Kereta Api Sribilah Utama, which offers executive and business services. Since August 10, 1978, it has used Yugoslavian economy trains before switching to executive and business services.

In 2013, an executive class was added, and in 2018, the business class became premium (Sribilah Premium) before returning to the AC business class in 2021 as Sribilah Full Bisnis.

On December 29, 2022, Sribilah Premium was put back into operation with circuit cuts and facultative status. Divre 1 received an executive transfer from Java in 2019, and although it briefly became New Sribilah Executive, the class reverted to mixed (Executive-Business).

The Sribilah Utama train route involves stops at Rantau Prapat, Marbau, Padang Halaban, Membang Muda, Aekloba, Puluraja, Kisaran, Perlanaan, Tebing Tinggi, Lubuk Pakam, Araskabu, Batangkuis, and Bandar Klipah until it finally reaches its destination in Medan. 

With a total mileage of 266 km, this train usually completes the journey in an average of about 5 hours and 33 minutes. The Sribilah train operates with a travel frequency of four times round-trip daily to fulfil the travel needs.

Sribilah Utama Train Class Availability

The Sribilah train offers three class options for its passengers, namely:

Business Class

In the Sribilah Utama Train, the business class is equipped with 64 seats arranged in a 2-2 formation, allowing passengers to adjust the seating direction to their liking.

Executive and Business

The executive and business classes on the Sribilah Utama train provide 50 seats, also arranged in a 2-2 arrangement. These seats can be reclined and swivelled, providing better comfort than the business class.

Premium Economy

The Premium Economy Class on the Sribilah Utama train offers 80 seats arranged in a 2-2 format, with 40 seats facing forward and 40 backward. In this class, passengers have the option to enjoy reclining seats.

Detailed Information About the Sribilah Utama Train

1. Train Set

The Sribilah Premium operation uses 2017-built trains, which were previously used for Mantab Premium trains in Java. Meanwhile, the executive class trains made in 1998 came from the transfer of the Argo Wilis train series to Bandung Train Depot, and in Cirebon Depot only the dining and generator trains from the Ranggajati train series.

2. Available Facilities

The Sribilah Utama train provides many facilities. The train is generally equipped with air conditioning, toilets, reading lights, emergency brakes, glass-breaking hammers, and other facilities. For executive class passengers, entertainment facilities are available, while luggage facilities are only available on certain trips.

3. The First and Last Schedule of the Sribilah Train

The Sribilah Utama Train operates four journeys every day, for a total of eight trips from each station. There are departures from Rantau Prapat to Medan at 07.40, 14.40, 17.25, and 22.00. Meanwhile, departures from Medan to Rantau Prapat are available at 07.50, 10.30, 15.00, and 22.20.
