Otter Hotel

The room was beautiful. We loved the fresh coffee you are given when you check-in, and especially enjoyed the rooftop hot tub and sauna!

The room was great, clean, modern and a good size. The hot pools were great as well as the outdoor area although they did get very busy over the weekend. The gym has enough equipment and the sauna was nice. The staff were pleasant and helpful, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Otter hotel is a beautiful hotel located at the beginning of the Banff strip. The hotel itself is clean, cozy and awesome. However, the staff were unfriendly and lost. The employees working the front desk seem lost and unable to help. We were given a voucher for the restaurant and went to use it before we checked out. When we talked to the worker at the front desk, she said we can use it and they will charge the room. We asked if we can use it after check out and she said yes. Then, when it came time to pay at the restaurant, the manager at the restaurant said they cannot charge the room since we were checked out. We paid the bill and went back to the front desk for proof that we paid and to get refunded. The worker said “oh sorry I accidentally checked you out but we will figure it out on our end.” We said “will there be a refund?” and she said they will figure it out. Then another person from my party said how frustrating it was that there was miscommunication, as they were already unfriendly to begin with. At this point, another receptionist came to take over the situation saying it wasn’t their fault and that it’s the restaurant’s fault. This came across as unprofessional. Additionally, it doesn’t matter who’s fault it was, we just wanted to correct the situation. He then went and argued with the manager of the restaurant. It is not about the money, but the principal of the situation. All members of the hotel should be passing around the same messaging.

One of the highlights of our stay was the hot pool and sauna—a true luxury after a long day of exploring. Clean, well-maintained, and incredibly relaxing, it made our experience feel elevated and special. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with high-quality finishes and extremely comfortable beds. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, always happy to help with recommendations or anything we needed. The location is ideal—close to downtown Banff, restaurants, and attractions—yet still peaceful and quiet. Overall, The Otter Hotel exceeded expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Banff and would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful clean, spotless room - very welcoming !! With All the amenities that we wanted ! Loved the bed and pillows! The staff were absolutely excellent ! I will say Josh at the Front Desk was so friendly and accommodating, helped us with picking out the complimentary teas from Jolene’s and then later dropped off a lovely Chocolate birthday treat with a card for my Birthday !!I I didn’t know the names of the other two ladies (but they were also helpful). Totally enjoyed up on the rooftop with the hot tubs and the sitting areas with individual fire pits !! Overall a great Birthday Getaway and we will be back !! ❤️👍🎉🥂

The staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, far exceeding our expectations. The hot pools and fireplace areas were fantastic, and the breakfast at the restaurant was delicious. A truly wonderful experience!

This is a fantastic hotel with great amenities. The rooftop hot tub was great, beds were comfortable, and the coffee was also delicious. Would recommend staying here.

Everything is perfect in this hotel but only one comment that doesn’t impress me… the housekeeper forgot to refill the body wash on our bathroom. Almost empty when we stayed

The hotel is incredible, the attention, the amenities, the location is all perfect, only the housekeeping staff should work more on their work with the stay over, I left a tip for a better service but they took the money and did not change the sheets (and the pillows were dirty) they only put them like that without checking, they did not refill soap or shampoo, but if it is not for the Houseman (I do not remember the name) but he is from London, he did an excellent job, very attentive, helpful, excellent recommendations about him and the hotel

The staff were prompt, polite and helpful. The room was clean, bright with lots of storage and amenities. The coffee options were superb - and the daily order was excellent. The hotel restaurant was spectacular with exceptional food. While the hotel is a little far from downtown, transit was fast and quick should you not want to walk. All in all an amazing place to stay.
