From the very first encounter at the check-in desk, we were greeted with a smile and outstanding service. When we went to park the car in the garage the ticket didn't work (barcode) and we had to circle around the block and go back in. The same woman who checked us in promptly created a new parking card with apologies. My husband left me with the luggage cart while he went to park the car. I went ahead up to the room and proceeded to unload the cart. A knock at the door revealed the woman from the front desk with 2 bottles of water and an apology for the inconvenience with parking. I thanked her and tried to tip her and she wouldn't take it, saying she just didn't want our first experience at the hotel to start the way it did. Wow! It was a small gesture but a big message. To be honest, there were more issues throughout our stay with the parking pass, but overall the hotel was great, clean, beds comfortable, bathroom well appointed, and the breakfast buffet extraordinary! We will be repeat customers, thank you.

I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Ottawa on Tuesday, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. When I entered my room, I found it quite dirty — the bedsheets and pillowcases hadn’t been cleaned properly, and there was hair all over them. I even took pictures as proof. The staff were polite and welcoming, and they answered all my questions, which I really appreciated. However, the overall cleanliness of the room was not at all up to Hilton standards. Considering the high price I paid for the stay, I was also surprised that breakfast wasn’t included and I had to pay extra for it. Overall, friendly staff but very poor room cleanliness and not worth the price.
