Larkin is one of the suburb in Johor Bahru which houses the Larkin Sentral (formerly Larkin Bus and Taxi Terminal) which is a bus terminal comprises of direct bus services to and from many cities and towns in Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Hat Yai in Thailand. Besides that, The Tan Sri Dato' Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium, also simply known as Larkin Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Larkin and is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 30,000 people and opened in 1964 and was named after former Menteri Besar of Johor, Tan Sri Dato Hj Hassan Yunos. On the other hand, the local ethnic Malays here speak the Malay language, while the language primarily spoken by the local Chinese is Mandarin Chinese. The Chinese community is represented by several dialect groups which are Teochew, Hainanese, Hakka and Hokkien while the Indian community mainly speaks Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Punjabi. The English language (or Manglish) is also used more so among the older generation who have attended school during the British rule.

How to Get There

By Car

From Kuala Lumpur, it takes around 3 hours and 20 minutes by using North- South highway whereas it takes only 14 minutes to Larkin via Tun Abdul Razak road from Singapore Kastam.

By Plane

There are flights daily from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Senai International Airport and it usually takes around 45 minutes. From Senai Airport to Larkin, the journey only consume 30 minutes by using car or taxi.
