About

Taman Tun Dr. Ismail is a major township in Kuala Lumpur and situated on the border of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Specifically, it is located within the vicinity of Bandar Utama, Damansara, Damansara Utama, Mutiara Damansara and other suburbs of Petaling Jaya. The township was named after Tun Dr. Ismail bin Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first ambassador to the United States and a Malaysian representative to the United Nations, before becoming Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister in 1970. The commonly used appellation for Taman Tun Dr. Ismail is "TTDI". "Taman" means "park" in the Malay language while "Tun" is the most senior federal title awarded by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to the most deserving figure who has highly contributed to the nation.

Taman Tun Dr. Ismail was originally a 286-hectare piece of old rubber estate land and a township with freehold tenure with approximately 6,500 housing and commercial units occupying 54% of the land area. The balance of 46% designated for public amenities. TTDI town ship consists of mixture of development ranging from landed properties, townhouses, condominiums and commercials with its own landscaped park. There are also facilities such as schools, colleges, recreational parks, banks, religious amenities, medical institution and many more. Furthermore, it is located strategically and accessible via major highways such as Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP) and New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE).

How to Get There

By Car

It only takes 10 minutes from Kuala Lumpur city centre to TTDI town centre whereas, from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, it consumes around 55 minutes via ELITE highway. This place also is reachable via Jalan Beringin and Jalan Maarof, Jalan Duta, Jalan Kuching, Damansara-Puchong Highway, North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) via Sprint Highway.

One Utama Shopping Mall

One Utama is one of the Klang Valley’s most popular shopping centres. It is about 30 minutes away from KL city centre and has over 650 stores and a variety of restaurants and entertainment outlets. Spread across five million square feet, it is locally known as 1U and is divided into two wings which are the Old Wing and New Wing. The Old Wing of 1 Utama has the usual retail stores with a mixture of high-end brands like Guess, Bershka, Morgan de Toii, Fossil, Bobbi Brown, The Body Shop, Nike, Levis, Puma, Uniqlo, plus local brands such as Poh Kong, Romp, Sasa, Tomei and others. On top of that, there is TGV cinema and also Starship Galactica for kids and family to spend time together. It is easy to reach to this shopping mall using the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP Highway) and it can be accessed from just off the main highway.

Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI Market)

TTDI market has been operating for over 25 years and it is popular among the residents at Damansara. Visitors can find a wide range of vegetables and fruits including hard-to-find ones like Australian mango, artichoke and passion fruit. The stalls are also well-stocked with lentils, fresh tofu, raw honey and other pantry essentials. The market is neatly compartmentalised compared to most others in town: The ground floor features fresh items like meats, vegetables, wet food and flowers while the first-floor houses tailors, baking supply stores, specialised organic shops and a noteworthy food court.
