Sri Petaling, also known Bandar Baru Seri Petaling is a sub-urban area situated in Kuala Lumpur. It is based in the south of the city and located near Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama and Bukit Jalil. This little town was first launched back in 1977 and got developed in 1981 to what it is today.

Before anything happened to this land, Sri Petaling was just rubber plantation estates. From the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, it was widely known as the ‘rubbish area’ as it was the main location of a landfill site. But it was then discontinued and made into a playground and a car park area to get ready for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

Today, Sri Petaling is a vibrant, self-contained suburban township with excellent infrastructure. Thanks to the LRT system and the easily accessible highways, Sri Petaling is slowly gaining its popularity as one of KL most important cities.

How to Get There

By Flight

The nearest airport to Sri Petaling will be the KLIA, KLIA2 and the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport in Subang. From the airport, visitors have to first head out to Kuala Lumpur Sentral to take an LRT to Sri Petaling. Or you can either opt for the cab service.

By Bus

Sri Petaling is well connected by bus operated by RapidKL. These busses go through most of Sri Petaling and its surrounding areas, starting from the Bukit Jalil LRT station, the bus travels to Endah Villa towards Endah Parade before heading out to the Kuala Lumpur Seremban Highway.

By Train

The main LRT station that serves Sri Petaling is located in Sri Petaling itself following the Sri Petaling and Ampang Line. But visitors can choose to drop off at the Bukit Jalil Station that is located at the stadium or the Awan Besar station that has buses commuting to Sri Petaling.
