Mid Valley City is an iconic landmark in Kuala Lumpur that is known for retail, dining, entertainment, business and hospitality. It was a city that was thoroughly planned and developed to be a ‘City in a City’ with a 50-acre site that boasts the potential to house up to 18 million square feet of built-up space that caters to any need from global conglomerates down to the leisure-seeking individuals.
Mid Valley City first began bringing in the crowd through their gates back in 1999 when Mid Valley Megamall was introduced. It is one of Asia’s largest and busiest retail centers followed by Menara IGB, Cititel, Boulevard Hotel and a KTM stop.
A vastly different world compared to nearby Mid Valley City, Brickfields (one of the oldest Indian settlements in the country) is Malaysia’s official Little India. Comprising several streets largely populated with Indian stores and restaurants, they sell everything from traditional Indian goods such as spices and incense, to local delicacies such as vadai, thosai (Indian pancakes made from fermented rice flour) and more. One of the city’s trademark tourist hotspots, it is just a ten-minute drive from Mid Valley.
Buddhist Maha Vihara is an attractive Brickfields temple, about one km from Mid Valley City. Far away enough from the main streets to provide it with a hushed, soothing ambiance, it serves the area’s Sri Lankan community. Locals call it the Brickfields Buddhist Temple and the rusty-red and powder white shrine is small, but inside it is a walled-in world of high ceilings, prettily ornate fixtures and impressive reclining Buddha statues that makes a trip here worthwhile.
Mid Valley Megamall is a mega complex, known to locals as the best shopping center halfway between the city center and the Klang Valley. One of the country's largest urban development projects, the 4.5 million-square feet emporium has a shopping mall, an office tower block, 30 signature offices and two hotels – the 646-rooom Cititel Midvalley and the 390-room Boulevard Hotel. Mid Valley is home to over 430 stores spread across its five floors; its five anchor tenants include Carrefour, Jusco, Golden Screen Cinemas, Metrojaya and Harvey Norman.
This hotel is a dream come true for shoppers as it’s connected to the Mid Valley Megamall, one of Kuala Lumpur’s largest malls.
