Banting is a town located at Kuala Langat District, Selangor and has a population of approximately 93,497 people. It is situated on the banks of Langat River (Sungai Langat in Malay) and also located near the beaches of Morib. It is a rest town or Bandar Persinggahan of Federal route. Besides that, the historical Jugra, a former royal town of Selangor is situated near Banting. Banting acts as an agricultural hub and its main agricultural resources include oil palm plantations, poultry farms, betel leaves and other plantations as well as comprised of industrial areas. The Malaysian former and notable bandminton players and brothers which are Misbun, Rahman, Razif and Rashid Sidek are from Banting town. There are also schools, colleges and popular institutions located here. There are also deparment store available here and textiles shops at Wisma Majlis Daerah Kuala Langat.

How to Get There

By Train/Bus

From Kuala Lumpur city centre, you can take Kuala Lumpur- Putrajaya highway to reach Banting and it is usually takes around 1 hour. Besides that, you can also take a train and bus to Banting town from Kuala Lumpur central station which will take around 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you are from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, it takes about 30 minutes to Banting town by using Route 31 and 32.

Morib Beach

Morib Beach was one of the first landing points on the west coast for the British and Indian Army liberation forces during the end of World War 2 in 1945. Currently, Morib beach is a great holiday destination located near Simpang Morib which is about 10 kilometres or 18 minutes away from the town of Banting. It is also known as Malaysia's Gold Coast and has a beach frontage around 22 kilometres long placed facing the Straits of Malacca. The seafront has been made into a promenade with a recreational park, featured with facilities such as gazebos, playgrounds, walkways and a food court with trees growing along grassy fields.

Kuan Wellness Ecopark

Strategically located at Tanjung Sepat, between Sepang Goldcoast and Morib Gold Coast as well as 25 minutes away from Banting town, Kuan Wellness Eco Park has a total land area of 5 acres and consists of a 3½ storey house and a visitor centre, surrounded by palm oil plantations and tropical fruit farms. The visitor centre is filled with swiftlet gallery, eco theatres, bird nest processing and research centre, sales centre, smoke-free bird nest eco café, eco-garden and green promenade. There is a mini-zoo which the entrance is RM 5 per person containing various birds, animals, reptiles and fish. Visitors can feed animals with bags of carrots and other food on sale for RM 2 or 3 per bag. There are many species of bird available here include sun conure, senegal parrots, rose-ringed parakeets, Livingstone’s turaco, mandarin ducks, black shoulder peacocks, white-whiskered bulbuls, ringneck and diamond doves, giant zebra finch and purple grenadier. Besides that, there are also rabbits, ferrets, porcupines, some Javan deer and prairie dogs. There are iguanas and ikan patin, patin putih, golden koi, butterfly koi and other local species. This place closed on weekdays and opens at weekends and school and public holidays only from 9 am - 7 pm.
