Smartr Madrid Gran Vía 47

Very small studio with very cheap furniture. Great location.

The location was great. Easy to access all the main attractions. The front staff was friendly and able to hold our bags after check out. The bed was hard but it was good size. It did get really loud at night until about 3am. Would stay again due to location but would get the bigger size room (we had the studio).

Great location but pricy for what you get.

For a 3-star hotel it is excellent. In front of La Gran Via and the Santo Domingo bus and metro stops, it makes moving through Madrid a breeze. Carefour grocery is nearby, so are restaurants and ice cream shops. Near Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and other landmarks in the area.

This was without doubt the worst apart hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Our first room was even worst than the alternative we were given, after protesting. Our next room felt claustrophobic and my wife described it as feeling like being imprisoned. There was little or no space therein. The bathroom was tiny with a damaged mini bath/shower and a shower head that had to be held, as without doing so it headed upward to the ceiling squirting water around the tiny room, more appropriately described as a closet. To use the toilet you’d to straddle it either side with barely enough room for your legs. The kitchen was very poorly equipped with a damaged counter and not enough plugs e.g. having to unplug the kettle to use the microwave. The only window had a curtain which my wife had to stand on a chair to be able to pull back. But the view was of a tiny enclosed gap with views of the backs of other rooms, too often of blurred frosted glass people showering! The hotel entrance was extremely grotty often with 1 or 2 homeless people on the steps, which the staff did nothing to address or clear. I mentioned the staff, well let’s clarify their indifference to customer service! EVERY request was treated like a burden e.g. when our hairdryer broke, we were greeted with a ‘What do you expect us to do about it?’ And literally being asked “Have you tried plugging it in?” I resisted expletives repeatedly dealing with these employees but I wish I’d the fluent Spanish to tell them some! Simply avoid!

The pictures shown of this property are a lie. I booked a single room with a twin bed. There was absolutely no decoration in the room, nor was it soundproof as is described. I heard everything my neighbor was doing, all the conversations, every time they opened the faucet and every time they left. There was also a lot of noise outside at all hours, made it very hard to sleep, even though the windows were closed. The bed I slept on was a literal cot. There was also an odor I noticed in the mornings in my room and in the hallways. The bathroom was very small but it was fine. The floor was cheap laminate flooring and made noise every time i walked. The TV was very old but it worked. The room was clean and the location was great, walkable to most places and right by the trains and buses. I would not stay here again or recommend this lodging to anyone. I was very disappointed in this accommodation and feel deceived as the pictures do not show the reality of the rooms.

Amazing place with the best location i recommend it by location

Great location, close to everything. Comfortable bed. Small property, tiny bathroom. Not much space for anything.

When we arrived at the hotel at 15:15, we were informed that our room was not ready despite the advertised 15:00 check-in time. We returned at 16:30, only to find that the room was still not prepared. As a result, we were offered a downgraded room, which we accepted to avoid further delay. The room provided was acceptable in terms of comfort; however, there was a significant plumbing issue. Every time we used the shower, water seeped through the floor, flooding the entire room. When we reported this to the receptionist, we were told nothing could be done, so we placed towels on the floor to manage the situation. While the stay had its positive aspects, these issues left us feeling that the experience did not fully meet expectations.

Great place to stay. It is located in Gran Via, Callao, close to different metro stations. The apartment was small but well equipped.

I recently stayed at Smartr Gran Vía 47 in Madrid, and overall, it was a good experience! The room had a private terrace which was really cool. And even with the hustle and bustle of gran vía right below, it was still really quiet in the room. Also the location is really central to shopping. Restaurants and nightlife which made it very convenient. That said, there were a few minor drawbacks. The bathroom was on the smaller side, and the bathtub was quite tiny, which might not suit everyone. Additionally, it took a while for the hot water to heat up, but once it did, it was fine. Despite these small issues, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend Smartr Gran Vía 47 to anyone looking for a centrally located, comfortable place. I’d definitely stay here again!

Central, secure, loads of dining options, metro stations some meters away and my room was very quiet at night plus kitchen!

The location is great and very close to shopping and metro and restaurants and tourist attractions. The hotel itself is a very different story The bathroom is so tiny you can’t sit on the toilet unless you sit sideways. The hot water ran out every evening and on the first night I told them no hot water in the room and their response was we will call maintenance and in the morning I had hot water but the same thing happened at night every single night. They could’ve said the situation is like this every night but they played dumb of course. One of the two rooms I booked had a sewage smell and they didn’t do anything about it. You get only one cleaning for every six night stay and if you want more you have to pay for it. You have to ask them for towels every day because they only put two towels in the room No plug next to the bed to charge your phone. The one good thing about them is how clean it was. They had a clean room. They call it apartment but don’t fall for that. No coffee maker in the room and no coffee in the lobby either. The room was so hot at night and the controller for the AC definitely did not work I can’t imagine this room in the Madrid summers. I had to open the bedroom window to be able to sleep and with that came all the street noises of course.

You can hear everything from the apt next to yours. Nice Staff. Good location.
