Extremely Disappointing Stay at Pullman ZamZam Makkah My recent stay at the 5-star Pullman ZamZam was extremely disappointing and far below expectations for a hotel of this standard. The check-in process was chaotic and delayed, with reception staff using WhatsApp messages to arrange rooms instead of a proper hotel system. No one explained why it was taking so long, and it was clear the team needed better training on hotel operations and guest handling. The room was in a rundown condition, with old furniture, a poorly maintained bathroom, and no view as advertised, which felt misleading. The lift system was another nightmare — since the hotel is on P11 and shares the building with a public food court on P3 and P4, everyone (including non-guests) uses the same lifts. This caused 20–30 minute delays just to go up or down, which is unacceptable for a 5-star property. The only redeeming part of my stay was the housekeeping team, who were polite, professional, and truly delivered 5-star service. Their friendliness and efficiency stood out amidst an otherwise poor experience. Overall, I strongly suggest management address the check-in process, staff training, lift congestion, and room maintenance, as the current standards do not reflect the Pullman brand or a true 5-star experience.

Spacious room and clean

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights with 3 twin beds in each room City View. The rooms and bathrooms need a real upgrade. For the half price, their Madina one has the upgraded and very spacious and nicely decorated rooms. If it was not for the location that you get access to haram right from your hotel, there is no fancy thing about it for the price they charge.

This is no value for money place. stayed their for 2 nights but paid a lot. Toilets and other parts of the room need serious upgrade. As promised Haram view was not a full view but a partial side view.

Lift service is terrible, hotel needs updating, rooms are not very clean, floor was sticky. Had to ask them to mop.

We were on the 18th floor, the room was spacious and clean, however you could still hear noise from the outside, I don't know if this was a common for all rooms. There was a small kitchen area in the room to make tea. Bathroom was clean and spacious too with all amenities available. The hotel is super close to the haram, I had read reviews that wait for the lifts were really long, but this is not something that we experienced at all. Staff were friendly and helped anytime we needed anything. The breakfast buffet is large with a nice variety. Overall, amazing experience, I would not hesitate to book here again. Thank you!

The location is ideal, the issues i had were, that we were told we can check in from 2pm, but they wouldnt allow us until after 4. the air conditioning was really noisy, so was the fridge. the area outside the room was noisy and our door was not sound proofed. it was disappointing as i had high expectations of this hotel.

The noise from the neighbours is very loud and can be heard all the time. The cleaning service is slow and didn't clean the room properly. Breakfast is crowded.

It’s most convenient, clean and with highly professional team of staffs.

Massive room with beautiful view. But not many amenities in the room or the bathroom. Breakfast was amazing

Breakfast buffet is big with all kinds of options. Rooms are standard, its really close to the haram. Its in the clock tower complex.

Shockingly bad service. I injured my foot and requested first aid kit and they did not have plasters. They instead instructed me to go to the pharmacy with bleeding foot myself. I’m paying £300 a night and they could not help source me a bandage or a plaster. This is not what you should expect from a 5 star hotel. Poor.

I really enjoyed my stay at Pullman Zamzam. The room was impressively spacious, spotless, and well maintained, which made the whole experience very comfortable. The property facilities were also excellent, and everything felt modern and well taken care of. A microwave in the room would have been a perfect addition, especially for longer stays. The location could not be better—just a two-minute walk to Masjidil Haram (Ka’bah) and directly above shopping malls, which made access extremely convenient. It truly feels like staying in a prestigious and central area. Staff were generally helpful and professional during the day, though I found the reception service at midnight a little less welcoming than expected. A warmer approach from the late-night team would make a big difference to the overall guest experience. In summary, this hotel offers comfort, cleanliness, and a prime location. I would happily stay again and recommend it to others looking for convenience and a sense of luxury near the Haram.

We stayed at this hotel as a family of five. The facilities were good—clean and functional. However, our initial experience was frustrating. Despite booking for five people, we were given a room with only two single beds, which was clearly inadequate. When we raised the issue, we were told that the hotel didn’t have a setup for five guests, which was surprising and disappointing (as five star hotel). As a gesture, they offered us free breakfast, which was appreciated but didn’t solve the core problem. After escalating the matter to the manager, initially i was offered coats. My kids have passed the coat stage. we were finally upgraded to a more suitable room. While the resolution was satisfactory in the end, it took extra effort and discomfort to get there. If you're traveling with a larger group, I’d recommend confirming room arrangements in advance. The staff were polite and responsive once the issue reached management, and that made a big difference. Specially the manager who delt with the problem was polite and really helpful. i would definitely stay again.

The elevator takes an hour to come plus very inconvenient staff doesn’t listen at all.

Toilet was not functioning and nobody fixed it even after calling front desk several times. Avoid this hotel if possible. Furniture was outdated. Windows were dirty and could not see haram clearly.
