The airport lies only a few kilometres northwest of Bandung's city centre, so the drive is usually short outside rush hour.
Jet services have resumed with carriers including Garuda Indonesia and Citilink, while Wings Air and Susi Air operate smaller regional aircraft. Check the latest schedule when you search, as the line-up has been changing.
International flights have been suspended for some time. Plans to bring them back have been announced, so check current routes before you book.
Both serve West Java. Husein Sastranegara is right inside Bandung, while Kertajati International Airport is in Majalengka, much farther from the city. Always check which one your ticket uses.
The airport sits in a hilly basin at around 740 metres above sea level, and its runway cannot easily be extended. That limits it to narrow-body jets and turboprops.
Taxis are available along Jalan Pajajaran, ride-hailing apps work across the city, and many hotels offer pick-up. Car rental and parking are also available.
The terminal has 26 check-in counters, self-service kiosks, a boarding lounge with shops and food, a coworking space, a kids zone, prayer rooms and three baggage carousels.

Husein Sastranegara Airport (BDO) is the city airport of Bandung, the capital of West Java. It sits on the northwestern side of the city, close enough to the centre that many travellers reach their hotel in well under an hour. The airfield dates back to the 1920s, which makes it one of the oldest airports in Indonesia still in use.
The airport is shared with an Indonesian Air Force base and the headquarters of Indonesian Aerospace, the national aircraft maker. At around 740 metres above sea level and ringed by hills, it has a relatively short runway, so the aircraft here are narrow-body jets and turboprops rather than large wide-bodies.
Only a few kilometres separate the terminal from central Bandung, and the airport's entrance faces Jalan Pajajaran. That short distance is the main reason many travellers prefer BDO over Kertajati International Airport in Majalengka, which lies much farther from the city.
Passenger services have been refreshed for the return of jet flights. The terminal offers:
For several years most jet services were moved to Kertajati, leaving BDO with a handful of propeller routes. Jet flights have since returned, and the airport again handles domestic services by carriers including Garuda Indonesia and Citilink. Routes reported for the relaunch link Bandung with cities such as Denpasar, Medan and Makassar, while smaller operators like Wings Air and Susi Air have kept regional links going. Check the current schedule when you search.
Taxis wait along Jalan Pajajaran, and ride-hailing apps are widely used around the city. Many Bandung hotels also run airport transfers. Car rental and on-site parking are available if you prefer to drive yourself.
Bandung is known for its cool highland air, Art Deco buildings along Jalan Braga and the landmark Gedung Sate. Day trips often head north to the Tangkuban Perahu volcano and the Lembang area, or south to the tea plantations and crater lake at Kawah Putih in Ciwidey.
Schedules at BDO have changed a lot in recent times, so confirm whether your flight leaves from Husein Sastranegara or Kertajati before heading out. Bandung traffic can be heavy at weekends, when visitors from Jakarta pour in, so allow extra time for the short drive.
