Everything was very nice and clean. One issue, when ordering breakfast you must be specific. Ex: Ordered a bagel with cream cheese and a side of bacon and received it as a sandwich.

Mixed experience – great amenities but overpriced and inconsistent service My recent stay at Hotel Bonaventure had some high points, but overall, it fell short of the price tag. On the positive side, the rooms are excellent. They are clean, updated, and feature very comfortable bedding, which made for a restful sleep. The pool, hot tub, and sauna are also a major highlight; they are well-maintained, open late (until 11 p.m. on weekends), and remain accessible even in the rain, which is a great perk. However, the value for money is lacking. The room rates are high, and the restaurant and room service pricing is significantly inflated for what you receive. The most frustrating part of my stay was the inconsistent service from the security staff. While the general staff were friendly and helpful, I felt singled out by the security guard on two separate occasions. First, he approached me at 9:55 p.m. on a Friday to tell me the pool was closing, despite it being open until 11 p.m. on weekends. He only backed down after I corrected him. Later that night, around 1 a.m., he approached me again while I was sitting in the lobby—the only person there—to demand my room number and key card. It felt like unnecessary scrutiny compared to the rest of the guest experience. While the facilities are lovely, the high costs and odd interactions with security made it difficult to justify the price.

The hotel was clean and looked great. When I arrived I was told there was no early check in and I’d have to wait until 3 or 4. That’s fine, that happens frequently. I then asked if I could use hotel amenities (which is never an issue) and this older gentleman at the front desk said “no”. It surprised me at first maybe I heard him wrong. When I asked again he told me “using the pool without being an official guest would be a liability if I tripped and fell, and if I wanted to I could stay in the lounge and wait for my room”. I told him that was ridiculous. Left. Came back when a different front desk person was working and they told me no problem and gave me access to the pool. SOME of the staff was rude. Felt like your classic Canadian American hate. Definitely won’t be going back and don’t recommend.

One of the best experiences we’ve had! Everything was simply wonderful. My friends and I came for my birthday and the staff made it so special. Looking forward to coming back! Ps. Best pool ever!!

Very clean room with nice view in the garden. The heated pool and the spa are great.

Really enjoyed our stay. The property and pool are worth checking out.

wonderful check-in, great room, easy valet for our car which couldn’t fit in the standard garage. hotel is a great location and the pool is great, very family friendly and busy, with a pool bar for grownups. we will return!

The place was great except for the restaurants. We will stay there again.

We booked a suite which was lovely but the price was $100 a night more than advertised on Expedia. I had to pay at the hotel so there was no arguing with them. The bathroom set ups in the suite were not good especially the showers. They were terrible. The pool was amazing

Excellent facilities. Located in a very convenient location

I booked a room with one bed, upon check in I was told that I got an upgrade and with 2 beds which I didn’t mind but the room felt like a downgrade rather. the location is towards the far end corner, there was a spider in the washroom, the AC was so loud it kept turning on and off through the night and disrupted our sleep.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Bonaventure Montréal. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. The hotel has such a unique atmosphere—it’s hard to believe you’re in the heart of downtown with the beautiful rooftop gardens, ponds, and walking paths creating such a peaceful escape. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights was the heated rooftop pool, which was amazing to enjoy regardless of the weather. The location couldn’t be better, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, Old Montréal, and public transit. What really stood out was the exceptional customer service. Every staff member I interacted with went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. I would highly recommend Hotel Bonaventure Montréal to anyone visiting the city, whether for business or leisure. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip to Montréal!

Wonderful hotel close to many attractions. 24 hour coffee bar was the best!
